Jami sat in the lobby with a group of wrestlers, going over the script for that night. Jeff sat across the room, watching Jami stare tearfully off into space. Lita sat next to her, trying to get her to smile. The Rock sat on the other side of her, giving her fatherly pats on the knee every once in awhile. It seemed like everyone had heard about Jami and Jeff's split. Jami looked over at Jeff at that moment and their eyes locked. Jeff looked away first this time.

That night Matt was scheduled to wrestle against Shane. Jeff had decided that he would accompany Matt to the ring, alongside Lita. Jami, of course, had to accompany Shane. Jami knew she wasn't going to be all there for the match. The moment the Hardyz came racing down to ringside, Jami felt her heart leap and race wildly. Jeff had on baggy blue jeans and a white wifebeater. His hair was partially hidden by a white bandana. Jami sighed, self conciously. She was wearing a pair of black cpari's and a light blue halter top. Her hair was pulled back in a high ponytail.

Jeff positioned himself at ringside, straight across from where she stood. They stared at each other, not noticing that the match was well under way. Jami saw the hurt in Jeff's eyes and she had to struggle to hold back tears. She looked up at the crowd in an attempt to keep herself in check but her eyes caught on a sign a fan held up. It read in bright purple letters, "SHANE CAN'T KEEP J.LYNN AND JEFF APART!". That's all it took. Tears came to her eyes and started to fall down her face. Jami took off for the back. She heard Jim Ross say, "What has gotten into J. Lynn? She just took off for the locker rooms, crying. And look, there goes Jeff Hardy. There must be trouble in the lovebirds' paradise."

Jami sat with her back facing the door, sobbing. Jeff quietly entered the locker room and crept up behind her. He leaned down and put his hands on her shoulders. Jami jumped but didn't turn around. Jeff then gently brushed his lips across the scar on her shoulder. Jami gasped and whirled around. Then she threw herself into his arms, sobbing loudly.

When she finally pulled back, she turned her tearstained face up to look him in the eye. "Jeff, I love you. I really and truly do, love you." she whimpered. A look of shock crossed Jeff's face before he gathered her into his arms again. "Jami, you have no idea how glad I am to hear you say that! But...aren't you still scared?" he asked her. She pulled back to look at him again. "Truthfully, yes. But I realized that I'm more scared of losing you. Of waking up and you not being there. I'm more scared of losing your love." came her heartfelt cry. Jeff leaned down and kissed her.
