Title: Learning the Steps
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 5
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me. Tasha owns herself. (Heaven help the person who tries to claim he/she owns either of us). Charity and Mags also own themselves and if you try to take them you will burn in hell! This is the next story in the Step series...it's the Matt/Lita sequel. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email. And I use the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know yet *L*.
Summary: Time for one of those talks....
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

Charity walked down one of the arena hallways trying to track Rob down. Every person she had asked had pointed her in another direction. Charity sighed with frustration before she saw Jeff walking in her direction with Stacy and Terri. "Oh...Charity...hi." Jeff said, looking a bit ashamed and shocked. "Hi Jeff, And what are you doing?" Charity asked him, point blank.

"Looking for Jami. Stacy and Terri were just helping me." Jeff said. "Yeah, looks like all three of you are working real hard. May I make a suggestion? Lose the two bitches." Charity said sweetly. WIth that she pushed Stacy and Terri to the side and took ahold of one of Jeff's arms.

"Jami was headed to your locker room to talk to you" Charity said, empasizing the word YOU. "Oh, okay. Then I guess I should head that direction." Jeff mumbled. "Why don't I walk you there and we can have ourselves a little chat." Charity smiled as Jeff nodded.

"What did Stacy and Terri want?" Charity asked. "THey just wanted to help me out." Jeff said slowly. "What did they want to help you out with is the question...and if you said they were helping you find Jami, I'll smack you upside the head." Charity smiled sweetly at him.

"You need to stop hanging out with the Blade women so much. They are turning you violent." Jeff commented. "That's not an answer." Charity reminded him.

"They were just talking about Jami and my relationship." Jeff cooly said. "And preytell, what did they say?" Charity asked. "Um...they just voiced their belief that true love doesn't exist. And when I said that I did believe in it, well, they brought up an interesting point. That Jami and I have spent more time being apart and fighting then being together." Jeff admitted.

"And now you are going to listen to them..." Charity concluded. "I don't know what you mean." Jeff said, trying to sound oblivious. "Jeff...I'm not stupid. I can see it in your eyes." Charity told him.

"Well, I think they have a valid point. I mean, anymore it seems like all Jami and I do is fight. If we have two blissful weeks together, then we get into a fight and don't talk for weeks." Jeff explained. "Well, those two weeks...you said blissful. Are you happy then?" Charity asked. "Well, yeah..."

"Explain why you are happy then." Charity said. "Well, Jami and I were happy. She was always in this bubbly mood. She'd be all bouncy, her eyes all lit up and bright. Her cheeks flushed and a big smile on her face. She'd make me smile, be happy. I'd feel better around her. We'd have this electrical current between us that always gave me goosebumps. We could sit there in complete silence and feel like we were communicating with our souls. I'd watch her sleep and I'd do that for hours. Drawing her imagine in my mind. Tracing her jaw bone. I tried to draw her once while she was sleeping, and she never knew I was going to do it. But I never finished it. I became entranced by her. ANd I couldn't capture her essence on paper. We could live on love." Jeff said, his voice and his eyes showing him to be in a trance-like state.

"And enough love to want her to have your baby." Charity whispered. "Yes, I wanted her to have my baby. I still do. I want a part of me to be growing inside her. I want there to be a tiny human being to be a combination of Jami and myself." Jeff smiled to himself.

"So now what do you believe?" Charity asked. Jeff turned to look at her. "I believe I want to spend my life living, fighting and loving Jami." he grinned.

By that time he had reached his locker room. Charity followed him inside. Jami jumped up the minute Jeff entered. Jami faced Jeff with tears streaming down her cheeks already. Jeff engulfed her in a hug. A few seconds later Jami pulled back, a puzzled expression on her face.

"Were you with Stacy?" Jami asked. Jeff's heart constricted, afraid of what she meant by 'with' so he said the first thing that popped into his head. "no." Jami's puzzled expression grew even more. "Are you sure?" she asked.

Jeff shoved her away from him. "What are you saying, I'm lying?" Jeff demanded. "No...it's just well...I've been very close to Stacy before...and I mean as close as most guys want to get, in the ring..and you smell of her perfume. More than just a passing by in the hallway smell."Jami stated.

"Oh, so now you are accusing me of sleeping with Stacy?" Jeff asked outraged. "no...that's not what I'm saying." Jami started to say but Jeff cut her off. "Enough of this shit. I don't need this." he said, stomping out of the room.

Jami stood there in shock. THen she turned to Matt, Lita, Edge and Tasha. "I guess I did get lost after all."
