Title: Don't Take That Step
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 22
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I
did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me.
Tasha owns herself. (Heaven help the person who tries to claim he/she owns
either of us). Charity and Mags also own themselves and if you try to take them
you will burn in hell! This is the next story in the Step series...it's the Jami/Jeff
sequel. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email. And I use
the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother
suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2
years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad
either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know
yet *L*.
Summary: Jeff just announced the one thing Jami dreaded. He wants a seperation.
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been
suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

"Miss. There's a Ms. Charity here who has just arrived and wishes to see
you." a nurse said moments after Jeff had left Jami's hospital room. Jami
sniffled loudly before nodding. A few moments later Charity entered the room,
looking shocked by how desolate Jami looked.
"Jami, what's going on?" Charity asked. "Jeff.....Jeff....left
me." Jami sniffled. "Oh, I'm sure he'll be back. He's probably just
letting off some steam." Charity assured Jami.
"no...he actually said it was over, that he wanted a seperation. He told me
that I was fucking insane and just messing with everyone. God Charity, he asked
for a seperation!" Jami sobbed.
Charity immediently crossed to where Jami sat and engulfed her in a hug.
"It'll be okay. Jeff will come to his senses. I'm sure" Charity
assured her. "no, I think he has finally came to his senses." Jami
mumbled.
"Jami, stop talking like that! You have to have faith." Charity told
her. "Char, I have no more hope left in me. I'm done hoping." Jami
whispered.
"Do you want to be alone?" Charity asked her. Jami nodded, curling up
into a fetal position on the bed. "Okay." Charity said, going to leave
the room. "Charity, thank you." Jami called out to her. Charity smiled
as she left the room.

"Has anyone seen Jeff?" Charity asked, walking into the waiting room.
"Charity, when did you get here?" Tasha asked. "A few minutes
ago. I was in seeing Jami. Have you seen Jeff?" charity asked again.
"No, not for awhile. He got upset a bit ago and left. No one has been
allowed to see her." Tasha filled her in. "Well, apparently Jeff
managed to find her." Charity said.
"What do you mean?" Undertaker asked gruffily. "Well, when I was
just in there she mentioned what Jeff had told her. Something about her being
fucking insane. Then...well, he told her he wanted a seperation." Charity
said nervously.
"Is she still alive?" Lita asked doubtfully. "yeah, barely at
times." Charity told them. "can this be anymore fucked up?" Tasha
mumbled.

Charity stalked about the hospital grounds looking for Jeff. She knew he
couldn't have gotten very far becuase he had not drove to the hospital, so he
had no way out of here. Finally she spotted him sitting against a hospital wall,
chewing on a blade of grass.
"Jeff Nero Hardy, You better run because I'm about to kick your ass."
Charity told him in a low voice. "What the fuck do you want?" he
asked, not even looking over at her.
"What I want to know is when did you lose your fucking mind?" Charity
asked. "About the same time Jami lost hers." Jeff shot back. "You
are such a coward!" Charity growled at him. "What the hell do you
mean?" Jeff asked defensively.
"You know that helping Jami through this was going to be one hell of a
major feet. So instead of sticking around, you bailed on her. Just like most of
the people she has cared about. She finally thought she had true friends. And
she does. But you just shoved that theory up your ass! Do not interrupt
me." Charity seethed at him when he opened his mouth to speak. "Why
dont' you just go in there, hold her down and carve your initials into her
shoulder like Austin did. Wait, you don't have to. She already feels like they
are on there, branding her as worthless. You are making her feel worthless Jeff.
And I can tell that you feel just as worthless." Charity finally stopped to
breathe.
"You don't know anything!" Jeff screetched at her, throwing her off
guard. "How am I suppose to go out there and do my job...be THE Jeff Hardy
when I have to be worried about my wife in the back, swallowing pills by the
handful. Don't you think I'm under enough stress as it is." jeff started to
go on but charity halted him with a hand, similiar to how the Rock did it.
"No, I don't expect you to. I do expect you to worry about your wife now,
rather than your own career, but then, that would be expecting to much of THE
Jeff Hardy, wouldn't it. Team Xtreme's motto has always been 'fear is only a
four letter word', well I think YOU are THE four letter word." Charity told
him by walking away to let him sulk.
