Title: Don't Take That Step
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 14
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I
did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me.
Tasha owns herself. (Heaven help the person who tries to claim he/she owns
either of us). Charity and Mags also own themselves and if you try to take them
you will burn in hell! This is the next story in the Step series...it's the Jami/Jeff
sequel. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email. And I use
the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother
suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2
years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad
either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know
yet *L*.
Summary: Something is seriously wrong with Jami!!! But what is it?
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been
suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

Tasha and Lita were immediently at their friends side as she crumpled to the
ground. Stephanie McMahon dropped to her knees before her immediently too, not
caring if it was out of character. They called Jami's name for a few seconds and
getting no response they gently slapped her cheeks, trying to get something to
respond. Still nothing.
Within seconds Jeff was at the ringside, asking what had happened. He stared
down into Jami's pale face and was visibly shaken, no doubt remembering when she
had had the miscarriage and nearly died and went crazy. Jeff sat on his knees
and gently cradled her head in his lap, brushing the hair back from her face.
The EMT's arrived on the scene only a few moments later. Tasha felt like
everything was moving in a haze. Much like it had the night Edge had fallen from
the top turnbuckle and went into a coma.
The EMT's loaded Jami onto their stretched and took her backstage with Jeff,
Tasha, Lita, Stephanie, Jackie and Ivory following. The backstage was swarming
with activity as Edge and Matt rushed forward, Shane McMahon, RVD, Mags,
Charity, and Danny all behind them.
Charity grabbed Lita's arm, "What happened?" She asked. Lita shrugged.
"She, she just passed out." Lita trembled. "Oh God. Was she at
all awake when they brought her back here?" Charity asked. Lita shook her
head no and bit her lip, trying to will the tears back.

Everyone in the hospital waiting room was fidgeting nervously. Traci was sitting
in a chair crying as Shane Helms tried to comfort her. Jeff was pacing and
everyone else was just numbly staring at the walls.
Finally a doctor came out and asked if there were any relatives to a Jami Hardy
there. Both Traci and Jeff immediently stood up and walked towards the doctor.
"What's wrong with her?" Traci cried, before identifing herself as
Jami's sister. Jeff quickly introduced him as Jeff Hardy, Jami's husband.
"We aren't exactly sure what happened to Mrs. Hardy. We are running some
blood tests, MRI's, CAT scans and all the other tests right now to try and
identify the source of the problem. I just need to know if there is anything
that Mrs. Hardy is allergic too." The doctor told them briskly.
"Her name is Jami! Call her by her fucking name!" Traci sobbed. Jeff
put an arm around her. "She's allergic to Shellfish." Jeff told him.
The doctor nodded quickly before writing something down on her chart.
"Um, doctor. Was there, um, any possibilty that, well, Jami was
pregnant?" Jeff asked. The doctor shook his head sadly. "Son, I'm
afraid not. There is no way she could be pregnant and still weigh so
little." the doctor told him as he rushed back into the E.R.
