Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I
did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me.
Tasha owns herself. (Heaven help the person who tries to claim he/she owns
either of us). This is the sequel to "Take That Step" , "One Step
Back" and "one Step Forward" you'll find the addresses to those
stories in my signature at the bottom of this email. And I use the wrestlers
wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother suing me...all
you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad
either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know
yet *L*.

Jami grabbed the cordless phone and quickly dialed a bunch of numbers.
"Good Tash, you have your cell on. Did you see what the boys just
announced?" "Yeah, I saw, and I can't believe it." Tasha told
her. "Do you have any idea WHY they are doing this?" Jami asked.
"Not a clue. We saw them earlier tonight and they didn't say a word about a
steel cage match." Tasha explained. "Oh good God, look at Jeff
wrestling in the ring! He's limping! He's probably reinjured his knee!
AUGGGGHHHHHHH!" Jami yelled. "Jami, stop throwing popcorn at the TV!
You are making a mess!" Tasha heard Traci yell in the background.
"Tash..is Edge around?" Jami asked and Tasha handed the phone over to
Edge. "Hey J." he greeted. "Do you think a jury would convict me
if I locked Jeff in a closet for the rest of his natural life?" Jami cried
over the phone. "Uh, I'm pretty sure they would. And have you ever looked
into anger management classes?" Edge asked her. "Ohhhhh, why am I
talking to you? oh yeah...do you know what Matt or Jeff are thinking?" Jami
asked him in frustration. "Nope, my guess is that they wanted to do a steel
cage match." Edge answered. "Ugh! You are no help what-so-ever! Tell
Tash I'll call her later." Jami spit out before hanging up.

Jeff let the phone ring a few times before he picked up? "Yeah?" he
answered, preparing himself for what was to come. "Okay, explain."
Jami demanded. "Explain what, sweetie?" Jeff asked innocently.
"Jeff, do you happen to remember the last cage match you were in with the
Dudleyz, because I do. I doubt you will though since you were knocked
unconscious for quite some time after that match. Not to mention that you
injured your knee in that match and it took you forever to gt back to one
hundred percent...and I saw you limping tonight. So now, explain, what the hell
are you guys thinking?" Jami cried out.
"Damn Jami, try breathing for a second here. Calm down and I'll explain it
all to you." Jeff pleaded. "No, I will not calm down. I do not have to
be rational. So don't even ask that of me either! I'm sitting here, watching a
nice RAW show, when suddenly I find out that my husband has just demanded a
suicide match!" Jami said, slowly calming down.
Jami, I've been in plenty of cage matches before and I've been okay, I'll be
okay in this one. It's just a match. Vince asked us to think of something big
for Summerslam, and this is what Matt and I thought of. It's just a match."
Jeff calmly told her.
"No! No! It's not just a match! You can't do this Jeff! You can't."
Jami cried, starting to sound hysterical again. "Why Jami? Why are you so
against it?" Jeff asked, not understanding why Jami was getting so
hysterical. "Jeff...ugh! Just....just...oh, you just can't. Don't you
understand? You just can't go and do this! You'll regret it! I'll regret it!
Jeff, you just can't!" Jami cried.
"Jami, I don't understand. I won't regret it. Everything will be okay. Will
you please stop freaking out?" Jeff begged, frustration creeping into his
voice. "No! No! No! I will not stop freakin' out! I will freakin' freak out
if I freakin' want to!" Jami yelled hysterically befor throwing the phone
onto the floor and running out the door.
Traci picked up the phone and heard Jami pull out of the driveway, squeling her
tires as she went.

"Jeff, I don't know where she went. She threw the phone down, she was
crying hysterically, and she ran out of the house. Then I heard her drive
off." Traci explained. "Damnit! Why was she so upset by this
match?" Jeff asked.
"Jeff, if I know my sister like I think I do, then she isn't really upset
about the match." Traci said. Jeff ran a hand through his blonde hair in
frustration. "What are you talking about?" "Jeff, Jami isn't as
okay as she's been acting. That's how she is when something is really wrong with
her. She pretends like she's okay and all is right in the world. She holds it
all inside. Then she just loses it. The tiniest thing will set her off and she
just goes hysterical. She did this when our grandpa died, she did this when her
friend Elmer died and she did this when Austin died." Traci explained.
Jeff slowly sat down on his bed. He let out a shaky breath as he thought about
what Traci had just told him. "You mean...I just let her go off on her own
when she was hurting so badly?" "Well, she wasn't exactly alone, ya
know, I was here." Traci said, dryly.
"You know what I mean. Oh God, why didn't she just tell me how she
felt?" Jeff asked. "Jeff, my guess is that she was trying to protect
you." "Protect me from what?" Jeff cried. "Jeff, when Jami
was so devestated about losing the baby, she wasn't totally gone all the time.
She saw how badly you were hurting. She pushed her emotions aside and acted like
we all wanted her to act. She trained herself to lock things like that away when
Austin died. You remember how long it took to break through to her? Well, this
is the same thing, only you are seeing the beginning of it." Traci waited
to here Jeff's reaction. After a moment she heard only the dialtone.
