Title: Picture Perfect
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 1
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own myself. The song belongs to Angela Via. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email. And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know yet *L*.
Summary: The idea for this came from a picture of me and Jeff. And no, I'm not delisional and think that he and I are "meant to be". *grin* I just thought I'd write a cheesy romance...and I liked this song...and hey, why not throw in the Jeff/Me picture? *grin*
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

"Jami! Jami! Wait up! Hold up!" Jeff breathlessly called after Jami as he followed her into the arena's coffee room. "Hey, sup?" Jami greeted. "You walk to fast." Jeff said, catching his breath. "Well, you didn't have to run after me ya know...walking would have gotten you to the same place." Jami laughed.

"Well, usually you manage to disappear whenever I walk after you. So I thought that maybe running would get us in the same room together." Jeff told her. Jami felt her blood run cold in her veins, and at the same time, her body grew immensly hot.

"Wh-What are you talking about?" Jami asked, nervously looking away. Her right hand reached out and nervously groped around the table full of coffee cups, searching for something to hold on too. Fear was boiling in her blood, and she wasn't sure why.

"Well, uh, it seems like you've been avoiding me." Jeff said, reaching around her to grab a coffee cup, handing it to her. Jami gratefully took it, her hands wrapping around it as if searching for comfort from it.

"I, I haven't been avoiding you. Just busy. You know, busy." Jami said haltingly. "Leaving the room when I come in isn't being busy. It's avoiding me." Jeff grinned at her. Jami almost didn't hear that though, all she could think was, 'Can I sound any more idiotic?'.

"Jami...are you upset with me or something? Did I piss you off? What's wrong? One minute we are friends hanging out all the time, and the next thing I know, you would rather work than talk to me. What's going on?" Jeff asked in a soft voice.

Jami had to struggle to keep the tears from falling from her eyes. The hurt look on Jeff's face made her want to week though. It was nothing that he did. It was what she had done. She was the one who had went and fallen in love with her best friend.

All of this time
Guess I must have been blind
Not to see you and me
We're picture perfect

Now baby we've been friends
For such a long, long time
We've been through laughs and we've been through cries
But lately have you seen
The way my tongue gets tied
Can't hardly speak when I look into your eyes

It's because of the way I'm feeling
It's somethin' I never dreamed
And our love has a different meaning
It took so long to reveal but now I know that

"It's nothing Jeff....I've just been busy. You know, articles to turn it for the magazine. Photos to get developed. I've just been busy." Jami rationalized to Jeff as she poured coffee.

"Why are you drinking this shit? You hate coffee." Jeff reminded her. "Yeah, I do. just, well, I'm developing a taste for it, I guess." Jami said. "You seem to be gathering a taste for a lot of things lately." Jeff muttered. "What do you mean by that?" Jami asked.

"Well, I heard that Vince was talking to you about the tribute promo video he was putting together for Team Extreme. He asked you if you minded if a photo was included of you and me. You told him you didn't want it in there for the world to see." Jeff said, swallowing loudly.

All this time, guess I must have been blind
Not to see, you and me, we're picture perfect

I'll be yours, be mine
We're picture perfect
Forever picture perfect

Jami bit her lip, struggling to regain her emotions. She knew what picture he was talking about. In fact, it was one of her favorite pictures of them together. It was from when she was simply 'just a fan'. She had met Jeff, had the customary picture taken, and was hired by the WWF as a writer a few weeks later.

It had suprised Jami upon her first meeting with Jeff after she was hired, that he remembered her. "Yeah, didn't your friend get me to autograph her head so she could get it tatoo'd on?"

Jami still had the picture of the two of them. She kept it in a photo album she carried everywhere with her. Some of her friends from home would see the picture and ask if he was her 'special someone'. Jami would give them her patented half grin, not answering the question directly. "He's my friend."

"Why didn't you say anything before?" jami asked Jeff, trying to clear the cobwebs out of her head. "I don't know. I guess I was hoping you would say something to me about it. I asked Vince about the picture. It was the one you love. You say it's your favorite because of how it looks so normal." Jeff said.

I showed some friends of mine
My favorite photograph
You know, the one of you and me, from way back
And when I told them all
That you were not my guy
They couldn't see it, couldn't understand why

Everyone thinks it's so romantic
They say we are two of a kind
And the more I think about it
The more that I realize what I"ve been missing

"Yeah, we look so picture perfect." Jami sighed, her fingers curling defensively into the styrofoam cup in her hand. Her hand clutched the cup so tightly when she realized what she had, that it broke in her hand.

Jeff looked at her, a slightly amused look on his face. "Are you okay?"

"I....I....I don't know..." Jami answered truthfully, feeling the heat rush up to her cheeks, staining them a painful pink color. "Jami, you are starting to worry me. What's going on?" Jeff asked, his hand reaching out to rest on her arm gently.

Jami jumped back, as if he had touched her with a red hot poker. Her eyes turned fearfully up to meet his, tears burning in them. "I....I...we're to picture perfect." Jami muttered half under her breath, before taking off at a dead run out of the room, fear propelling her forward.
***
My heart keeps telling me
Make up your mind about whatcha mean
You've been holding back for to long
You know it makes good sense
Best of lovers are the best of friends
I guess we should have known all along

Everyone thinks it's so romantic
They say we are two of a kind
And the more I think about it
The more I realize what I"ve been missing.
