Rating: So far, it's a PG-13

*Tap* *Tap* *Tap* *Rat-a-Tat-Tat* Jami tapped her fingernails on the counter of the local gas station, bored out of her mind. There had to be better ways to make money then standing her listening to two kids argue over which flavor of bazooka bubble gum was better.
"It's 10 cents please." Jami smiled at the girls, trying hard not to just ram her head into the counter. The girls laid a dime down and ran out of the station.
Then she heard the sound of liquid splashing and a loud cry. Without hesitation she rushed over to where a little boy had just dumped his soda on the floor.
Jami picked the cup up, along with a few ice cubes. Luckily, in a way, this was the 4th spill today, so there was a mop nearby. "I'm so sorry." the little boys mother said with a red face. Jami smiled, "It's okay. Happens all the time."
The little boy was still crying when Jami finished mopping up the spill. She knealt down in front of him, "How would you like a cookie?" She asked. The little boy nodded, giving her a shy smile.
Jami grabbed a cookie out of the container on a counter. When she turned to go back behind the counter, she felt eyes on her. She looked up to see a pair of green eyes, dancing under the harsh light in the station.

Thought that I was going crazy
Just having one of those days yeah
Didn't know what to do
Then there was you
And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out and filled up the sky
The music you were playing really blew my mind
It was love at first sight

"H-hi." Jami stuttered, her cheeks flushing a bright pink. "Again, I'm so sorry about this." the mother of the little boy said, coming up to pay for her drink. The man at the counter moved to one side, never taking his eyes off Jami.
"It's okay. Really. Accidents happen." Jami smiled at the little boy. When the mother turned to leave, Jami looked up into the emerald eyes again.
"C-Can I help you?" Damnit, why couldn't she talk like a civilized perosn? What the hell was wrong with her? He was just a good looking man. What the hell was going on.
"Yeah, I was actually wondering if you could give me directions. I'm not from around here, and i need to find the highway." He smiled at her. "I, uh, I'm not very good at giving directions...you sure you want to trust me on this one?" Jami asked.
The man nodded, and Jami gave him the simplest directions she could. When she was done, he didn't move. "How about you give me one of those scratch of tickets. Any one will do, you pick." he said.
"I...well, I'm not that much of a lucky charm. I'll probably pick a loser." Jami said. What in the bloody hell was wrong with her. Why didn't she just tell him she was a loser and get it over with.
"That's okay, I trust your judgement." He said softly. Jami slid her hands down to rip off a dollar ticket, never taking her eyes away from him.

'Cos baby when I heard you
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one
Was tired of running out of luck
Thinking 'bout giving up yeah
Didn't know what to do
Then there was you
And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out and filled up the sky
The music you were playing really blew my mind
It was love at first sight

After a moment, the man turned the ticket over and wrote something on the back of it. "Here, you can have this. Maybe it'll be your lucky day as well as mine." He winked at her, and before she could breathe, he was gone.
She scratched off the code and ran it through her machine. The ticket was a winner. It was only 25 dollars, but it was still a winner. Then, the thought hit her that he had written something on it.
She flipped over the ticket and saw what he had written. "Jeff Hardy, 455-5253. This really was her lucky day.
