Title: I'm Like A Bird
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 1, it's a song fic
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I
did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own anyone else mentioned
in the story, for they are the voices in my head, crying to get out. The song
belongs to Nelly Furtado or something like that. And don't bother suing me...all
you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13 Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be
anything to bad either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know
yet *L*.
Summary: Fly away.......fly away home. Okay, so it's not a summary...just be
filling in space...but ya love me still, right? RIGHT?
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee!

Jami sat on her hotel bed, her doe brown eyes intensley focused on her
boyfriend, WWF superstar, Adam Copeland. He wore only a pair of faded blue
jeans. His white, blonde hair cascaded down his tan shoulders and back. At the
moment, he sat on the other hotel bed, intently reading a few fan letters.
Jami watched as his green eyes moved back and forth across the paper as he read.
Occassionally he would smile at something he had read. Jami still felt shivers
up and down her spine when he smiled, even after all their years together. They
had been dating for two and a half years, but had been friends for five years.
Adam stretched slowly and Jami watched as the muscles in his back slowly
rippled. Her brown eyes traveled up and found Adam's own green eyes looking back
at her. She bit her bottom lip and ran a hand through her brown hair.
Adam smiled his famous smile at her. "What are you thinking about?" he
asked her, setting the letters down on the bed and walking towards Jami. He sat
next to Jami on the bed. Jami turned to face him, her eyes looking slightly
troubled.
But Adam also saw something else in their brown depths. Adam could see an
extremely rare and true love. He knew Jami loved him. And he could see it every
time she looked his way.
***
You're beautiful, that's for sure
You'll never ever fade
You're lovely but it's not for sure
that I won't ever change
And though my love is rare
Though my love is true

Jami continued to bite her lip nervously. She softly smiled at Adam, struggling
to keep her thoughts to herself. "Oh, I uh, was just wondering if we were
driving or flyiing to the next town?" Jami covered. Adam gave her a
questionable look. "We are flying." he told her.
Jami smiled and laid her head on his shoulder. Adam began to softly play with
the silky strands of her hair. "You really love to fly, don't ya
baby?" he gently murmered into her hair, and then gently kissing the top of
her head.
"Yeah, I really do love flying." Jami whispered, laying a hand on his
jean clad thigh.

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away
I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is
(and baby all I need for you to know is)
I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away
I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is
All I need for you to know is

Adam smiled, he couldn't believe that he and Jami had been together for over two
years. Adam had watched Jami go from short relationship to short relationship.
Whenever he questioned her as to why she did that, she would just shrug and say,
"I like to be free."
Adam had loved her from the day they had met, but he knew that if he waited,
Jami would come to him. And she had. She had told him that she felt free with
him and wanted to be in a relationship with him. That had been two and a half
years ago.
Occassionally, she would get really quiet, like she was now. She was worried
because she claimed she knew that someday she would fly away.
"How can you have so much faith in me?" Jami would cry. "Because
when I look into your eyes, I see pure, rare, true love. The same love I have
for you." Adam told her.
"But how do you know that won't fade?" Jami asked. "Because I
know you." Adam reassured her. "Maybe you don't know me that
well." Jami had confided.
***
Your faith in me brings me to tears
Even after all these years
And it pains me so much to tell
That you don't know me that well
And though my love is rare
Thought my love is true.

"Jami, are you happy with our relationship?" Adam asked. Jami shot her
head up and turned wide eyes to him.
"Oh yes! I love being able to travel all over the U.S. and the world with
you. Watching what you love to do night after night. I love waking up in your
arms, and falling asleep with your arms around me! I love you! I honestly love
you!" Jami cried out.
"I love you too." Adam smiled. "But you're still scared you are
gonna wanna fly away someday, aren't ya?" he asked and Jami nodded.

"It's not that I want us to ever split up. It's just...." Jami trailed
off, shrugging her shoulders. Adam gently brushed a strand of her hair back
behind her ear and cupped her face. "It's just what?" he asked.
Jami gently ran a finger along Adam's jaw. "It's just that I know that
someday I'll have to let you go. And it scares me. I don't want you to get hurt
if we fall through." Jami finally whispered, her eyes filling with tears.
"Baby, don't be afraid. I love you. And like I told you before...our love
is rare and true." Adam assured her. Jami bit her lip and nodded. She hoped
he was right.
***
It's not that I wanna say goodbye
It's just that every time you try to tell me that you love me
each and every single day I know
I'm going to have to eventually give you away
And though my love is rare
And though my love is true
Hey I'm just scared
That we may fall through
