Couldn't find another man
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: the one, the only
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I
did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Sky, for she is one of
my many personalities. And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten
ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago. The song lyrics are from
Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13

Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know
yet *L*.

Matt slowly slid the door open and crept inside the warm apartment. He had just
rushed up 5 flights of stairs after being out in the cold, winter night. He was
late, very late. He had promised to be there at 5 p.m. and it was now 2 a.m. It
wasn't really his fault, but then, it was never his fault. Something always came
up at work, or a flight was delayed, or something like that would happen. He
knew he had disappointed her so many times, yet she stayed with him. He wasn't
sure why. He softly dropped his luggage and went looking for her.
***
If I knew that this would all come down...
to a sad goodbye
I would see it through
til the tears burn my eyes...
cause the lovin' that you give to me
So true and profound
Is the sweetest gift I have ever found.
***
He saw her laying across the bed, her black hair spilled across her pillow. She
was still dressed in blue jeans and a white t-shirt, so he knew she had fallen
asleep waiting for him. He pulled his own black hair away from his face. Today
was their 3 year anniversary, or actually, yesterday was,. And he had missed it.
All she had been through with him, and he couldn't even be there for her on that
one day.
***
If I had to fight fire,
You know I'd find a way,
For a love that is sacred,
I would fight until my last day...
***
He glanced over on the desk and found a card leaning against the lamp. His name
was scrawled across it in her familiar writing. He grabbed the card and slit it
open. On the front were a little boy and a little girl, holding hands. He opened
it and found the card only read, "I love you". He then read her scrawl
on the back of the cover.
Matt,
Something as simple as just holding you hand makes me complete. I'll always love
you like a child - unconditionally. I could never find a man to love me like you
do, or that I love as much as I love you.
~Sky~
***
I couldn't find another man,
Who loves you like you do,
I couldn't hold another hand,
That holds me quite like you,
Such a love was half as planned,
Couldn't find another man.
***
He gently sat on the bed next to her and brushed a hand across her cheek. Sky
opened her blue eyes and smiled up at him. "You made it." Matt nodded,
"I'm so sorry I"m late." Matt whispered. Sky smiled, "you're
here now, that's all that maters." Matt shook his head, "Why do you
put with me?" he asked. "Oh Matt, I love you. Even those times I've
cried or been so mad I could spit, I still love you. I can tell by the look in
your eyes, that you love me the same way.
***
Only you can set my heart on fire,
Or fill my life with pain,
And no matter if I laugh or cry,
I'll love you just the same
Cause the moment that I hold you close
I see in your eyes, with a silent stare
You tell no lies...
***
"Sky, you have no idea how much I love you. I love wrestling. I love
winning those gold belts, but if you ever left me, they would mean absolutely
nothing to me. I would give them all up in a second. I love you." Matt
replied, his eyes watering.
***
If I lost ever pleasure of silver and gold,
I could still find my treasure,
With you there to hold.
***
Matt layed down next to her and wrapped his arms around her as she sighed
contentedly. This is where they belonged. They would make it through
everything...together.
***
I couldn't find another man,
THat loves me like you do,
I couldn't hold another hand,
that holds me quite like you,
Such a love was half as planned.
Oh, oh oh
Couldn't find another man.
