Title: How Do I get There?
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 1
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I
did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. The song belongs to the one and
only Deana Carter. And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham
sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad
either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know
yet *L*.
Summary: Okay, I actually kind of like this pairing that the WWE seemed to be
teasing us with awhile back...
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been
suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

'I'm not suppose to feel this way.' Trish Stratus silently told herself as she
sat on a gear trunk in the back of the arena before Raw. She was snapped out of
her thoughts when someone ruffled her hair. She looked up in annoyance to see
Bubba Ray Dudley grinning at her.
"Hey partner, ready for tonight?" Bubba asked, referring to their intergender
tag team match versus Steven Richards and Victoria. Trish swallowed the lump in
her throat and nodded.
"Something wrong kiddo?" Bubba asked in concern. "Bubba, we're friends, right?"
Trish asked. "Of course we are." he answered. "Would you say good friends?"
Trish asked. "Yeah, I would. I trust you in the ring and I trust you outside of
it as well. Now, what's this all about?" Bubba asked, looking confused.
"Oh nothing...just, uh, reflecting on who my true friends are." Trish blushed.
"Okay, that's bullshit...but that's okay. You'll tell me when your ready. Now
I'm gonna go finish getting ready for our match. I'll see you out there." Bubba
told her, ruffling her hair again.
***
We've always been the best of friends
No secrets and no demands
But suddenly from somewhere out of the blue
I see a different light around you
One thing I haven't told you, I just want to hold you
And never let go - I need to know
***
'This cannot be happening. I cannot be falling in love with Bubba Ray Dudley.'
Trish told herself. 'But you are' Trish thought again. Growling with frustration
she hopped off the trunk and was nearly ran over by Jeff Hardy.
"Hey watch it. Oh, it's you Trish. What's up?" Jeff asked. "Not much, what are
you doing?" she asked, taking in the sight of Jeff standing before her in
nothign but a dangerously baggy pair of black jeans.
Instead of the usual fluttering in her tummy, she felt only comfort. She didn't
feel the usual sexual attraction, and it didn't suprise her. Right now her mind
was too focused on Bubba.
"Are you okay Trish?" Jeff asked and Trish looked up at him. "Sure, why?" She
asked.
"Because I just told you that I was abducted by alien cows and forced to dance
that new damn ketchup dance, and all you did was nod." Jeff told her. Trish
blushed, "I'm sorry Jeff. I guess I do have something on my mind."
"Looks more like someone." Jeff commented. "I, uh, no..just something." Trish
scrambled to speak.
Jeff tilted his head up and looked down at her, one of his infamous poses that
had become second nature, "You know, you and Bubba look pretty good out there
together. You've got great, uh, chemistry." Jeff told her.
Trish's eyes widened and her face reddened. "You don't think we look odd?" Trish
asked. "Sure you look odd. I mean, your a blonde bombshell and he's a dork. But,
since when did you care about how it looks? Weren't you the one who had an
affair with Vince McMahon?" Jeff asked.
Trish punched his arm, nothing that it turned her knuckles a slightly bluish
color from his body paint. "That was a storyline, not real life."
"Oh, I guess I've done to many swantons off a ladder. I get those easily mixed
up. Reality...fantasy...it's all blurred to me. So, I guess the Trish Stratus in
fantasy land doesn't care how things look, but the real Trish Stratus does."
Jeff said.
Trish opened her mouth to speka, but no words came out. Finally she weakily
spoke, "Jeff, help me blur fantasy and reality. How do I get there?"
***
How do I get there from here
How do I make you see
How do I tell you what my hearts been telling me
Lost in your loving arms, that's where I wanna be
You know I love you
How do I get there?
***
Trish nervously paced up and down the small stretch of hallway outside the mens
locker room. Jeff had disappeared moments ago in search of Bubba. "Trish?" she
heard Bubba ask from the doorway and she looked up.
After taking a deep breath she smiled brightly at him, "Hey Bubba."
"Jeff said you needed to talk to me. What's up?" Bubba asked, leaning against
the wall. "Well, you see, I have something to tell you. Something major. And
once I do, you'll probably think I've lost my mind. And Maybe I have. I mean,
I'm like, breaking unwritten tag team rules here. I know I'm majorly crossing a
line, and I'm afraid to tell you because once I cross that line, I can never go
back. You see, I think...well, I think maybe I love you." Trish rambled on.
This jerked Bubba Ray to attention, his mind reeling. "huh?" was all he could
say.
***
You probably think I've lost my mind
Takin' this chance, crossin' that line
But I promise to be truer than true
Dreaming everynight with these arms around you
I can't wait any longer - this feelings getting stronger
Help me find a way
***
Trish felt tears welling up in her eyes. Of all the things he could have said,
his response had been "huh?".
"See, I knew this was a bad idea. Jeff said I should tell you, but we all know
Jeff is about thirty cards short of a full deck. But, I have this, uh, Crush on
you. Maybe it's good for me to tell you. Then again, maybe it's good if I run
head first into a plate glass window. What I'm saying is, well, I don't even
know what I'm saying. I'm just rambling in an effort to keep you from rejecting
me." Trish rambled, using exaggerated hand motions that only show how nervous
she was.
Before Bubba could respond a technician ran up to them, "You guys are on NOW!"
he gasped. Trish took off to the gorilla positon to don her coat and cowboy hat.

How do I get there
how do I make you see
How do I tell you what my hearts been telling me
Lost in your loving arms, that's where I wanna be

Trish sat on a turnbuckle as Bubba Ray Dudley stormed to the ring. After
acknowledging the crowd he stood in front of her and motioned for her to stand
next to him.
Trish gulped but moved down next to him. He was hunched over, so she mimicked
his stance, and he threw an arm around her shoulders.
"you ready to do this.....baby?" Bubba asked. Trish smiled and nodded as she
felt Bubba's arm tighten around her shoulders.
***
I know the shortest distance between two points is a straight line
But I'll climb any mountain you want me to climb
The perfect combination is your heart and mine
Darlin' won't you give me a sign
How do I get there from here
How do I make you see
How do I tell you what my hearts been telling me
Lost in your lovin' arms, that's where I wanna be
You know i love you
How do I get there
