Amy Dumas, known to the world as Lita, was walking through the backstage
hallways at a PayPerView event. She had no idea what town they were in or even
what PayPerView they were doing that night. And truthfully she didn't really
care. Amy Dumas wasn't the wrestler in the WWF, Lita was.
Amy Dumas was mumbling to herself about what bills she had due. Most she would
pay on Wednesday when she was able to go home for the day. Amy didn't even
notice the looks of admiration she was getting. Not only because of her beauty,
but also because of what they knew she was capable of.
Amy walked gracefully backstage, not the same walk Lita did. Amy wore a pair of
comfy blue jeans and a white t-shirt with a black Nike symbol on the chest.
Amy's red hair fell around her face and shoulders in tangled, sexy waves.
Amy's eyes finally seemed to recognize her surroundings and the people looking
at her. All of them were employed by the WWF, but she didn't consider any of
them friends. She had been betrayed far to many times to believe in friends.
Matt and Jeff Hardy were like her family. But like most people do with their
family, they didn't have a strong friendship. Just an urge to look out for one
another. They only saw the parts of Amy she wanted them to see. The parts of her
that were Lita.

I do not trust, so I cannot love
(Can't no man be trusted)
Oh no no no
And I would not dare to open up
(This life of yours is dusted pink)
Well my rents past due and now my car won't start. I hate the bus
(well, aren't you glad you have somebody to talk to)
Tell me what do they see when they look at me
Do they see my many personalities.
***
Amy picked her pace up so she was quickly making her way to her locker room. She
felt like holes were being stared into her, trying to find her soul. Horrified
at that idea, she wanted to get inside the safety of her locker room.
Actually, it was a small room that she shared with Matt and Jeff, but she knew
that they wouldn't be there. They never were. THey got dressed as quickly as
possible before heading off to find a quiet place to think.
Finally Amy reached the locker room, quickly shutting the door behind her as she
breathed a sigh of relief. Their soul searching gazes couldn't reach her in
here. Amy leaned heavily against the door, trying to collect herself.

Can you help me
Does anybody hear me
Can they even see me
This is my reality, oh oh

Amy finally moved to go and stand in front of a full length mirror. As Amy
stared into the mirror she whispered, "You are my only friend." Amy
watched as the face in the mirror spoke back to her, "It's my turn in a few
minutes, Amy." the mirror image reminded her.
"I know...I know Lita. But can you wait a few minutes before you come out?
Some of the people out there were looking into me like they could see my soul.
" Amy told the reflection worriedly.
"That's why I'm here Amy. To protect you from all the backstabbers, all the
people who use you, or want to hurt you. In fact, I protect you from yourself
too. If it weren't for me you'd have never made it this far." The
reflection told her.
"Why can't I just be me? Why can't I go out there and be Amy? What do they
want from me?" Amy asked. "They want me." The reflection told
her. Amy sighed as she became Lita.
***
(can it be my turn now, is it my turn pink)
Said I'll say it again, you're my only friend
(I protect you from the world, I basically protect you from yourself)
Though I can't go on, I'm not satisfied with this being the end
(this is just the beginning)
Tell me why can't I just reach up and simply touch the sky
Tell me why can't I just spead my arm and fly and fly and fly
Tell me why can't I say this, why can't I do that
Tell me what do they want from me, tell me how to act

Can you help me
Does anybody hear me
Can they even see me
This is my reality, oh oh

Lita strutted around the hallways of the arena full of confidence. Her black
baggy jeans were low on her hips, showing off her hunter green thong. Her top
was a bra and fishnet shirt of the same hunter green color. Lita's red hair was
pulled up on the sides in a ponytail while the rest hung straight down her back.
Lita saw a group of girls from the crew standing to one side, watching her. She
tossed her hair and smiled a sickly sweet smile at them. They thought she was
insane. Crazy even. Well, that just goes to show them that they shouldn't label
people.
Lita wasn't crazy. Amy wasn't either. Amy was insecure and Lita just happened to
have a rather large ego. They were just two girls, both residing in the same
body. They were living just one life, in harmony. Lita always did the social
work for the two of them, while Amy did the logical, reasonable things.
Lita smirked a bit as more people watched her. Everyone had their own
insanities. Like Jeff. He took pain pills to help him get through his matches.
Or like the EMT that traveled with them. She used a razor blade on her thighs
nearly every night to deal with being around so much beauty while she was rather
plan looking.

So I'm putting it all on the table
(tell 'em Pink)
You don't know me well enough to label me, sick or ever distrubed.
When you break it down I'm just two girls
Trying to blend, trying to vibe
(trying)
Trying to live just one life
(so hard)
Everybodies got insanities...I got a split personality
Tell me why can't I just reach up and simply touch the sky
(why can't you)
Tell me why I can't spread my arms and fly and fly and fly
(you can)
Tell me why can't I say this, why can't I do that
(Just do it)
Tell me what do they want from me, tell me how to act
(I can't, I can't)
~*~
Can you help me
Does anybody hear me
Can they even see me
This is my reality, oh oh

Lita stepped in the ring, feeling all the spotlights on her, all the fans eyes
on her, adoring her. Inside she felt Amy's nervousness, but it was easy to
quench as the crowd cheered louder and louder.
Inside Lita's head though, Amy was beginning to scream at the audience:
***
Can you help me
(talk to me, talk to me, don't ignore me, I can't take it)
Do you hear me
DO you see me everytime
(Oh calm down, it's not that serious, we'll be just fine without them)
It's all mine...it's my reality...it's just to much for me.
(you're my friend, you're my friend)
