Title: Not So Angelic
Author: Jami Lynn

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me. Tasha owns herself. And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.

Jaylynn laughed at something Dani Johnson, Dwayne's wife, said as they made their way to the women's bathroom to freshen their makeup. She had spent most of the night talking with the WWE Superstar's wives as they all tried to fight boredom.

Before Jaylynn could tell what was happening, she felt a hand in her hair, throwing her to the ground. She smelled alcohol all around her and when she looked up, she was stunned to see Marissa bringing her foot down on her throat. After the shock wore off, Jaylynn grabbed the other woman's foot and twisted, 'causing her to shriek and fall backwards.

Jaylynn stood up and turned to a shell shocked Dani, "It's okay. But I need you to go get Shane now, please." Jaylynn instructed calmly. As Dani hurried off to find Shane, Jaylynn turned to Marissa, who was slowly standing up.

"Bitch, you messed up my hair." Marissa slurred. "Honey, I'm not the one who threw someone down by their hair. May I suggest you pick a fight with someone who can't hand you your ass on a platter?" Jaylynn said.

"Listen, you might think you have Shane, MY HUSBAND SHANE, but you don't. All I have to do is snap my fingers and he'll come running back to me. Just wait and you'll see." Marissa growled.

"Excuse me? I will?" Shane's voice boomed from behind Marissa. "oh please Shane. You know you still love me." Marissa said.

"No, I loved the old Marissa. You are someone completely different and I don't even like you." Shane said. He gently steered Jaylynn away from the scene. "Are you okay?" he asked. "I wanna leave." was all Jaylynn whispered.

Jaylynn waited as Shane unlocked the door to his Greenwich home. Without saying a word, she undid her dress and let it fall into a heap on the living room floor. She walked into the bathroom and locked the door behind her.

She stepped into the shower and turned the water to a prickly hot temperature. She washed her hair free of the hairspray and her body free of the fakeness of the evening.

Jaylynn let her head rest against the wet wall, trying to shut the evening out of her mind. She had actually been enjoying herself up until her eyes had focued on Marissa. She wasn't sure if part of her was jealous that the brunette had been, and still was, Mrs. Shane McMahon or just worried that no matter what Shane said, she'd never compare to Marissa. That Shane was still in love with the woman he had become the husband of years ago. That maybe when he looked at her, he saw Marissa.

Jaylynn rubbed her teary eyes as she realized that the water had turned cold. Shane pounded on the door. "Jaylynn, are you okay? Babe?" Shane called through the door. "I"ll be out in a minute." Jaylynn tearfully answered.

After turning off the water and stepping out of the shower, she slid on the short silk robe Shane had given her days earlier. She wiped the steam off the mirror and looked at herself. Her hair dripped water all over the robe and onto her skin. It fell in waves all around her red, tear streaked face. She studied her face, wondering how Shane could find her beautiful when she felt she looked rather plain.

With a sigh, Jaylynn opened the bathroom door and was startled to see Shane still standing by the door, looking worried. "Baby, what's wrong?" Shane asked, holding her face in his hands. Without a word, Jaylynn threw her arms around his neck and pushed herself against him in a tight hug. His arms wrapped around her waist and held her as she clinged to him in a way she never had before.
