Stephanie stuck her head into
Jaylynn's hospital room. "Hey, how are you feeling?" she asked,
coming fully into the room after seeing that Jaylynn was awake.
"Sore." Jaylynn croaked. Her throat was finally letting her
speak, although she sounded like a 150 year old smoker.
Stephanie nodded and sat down in
the chair that CharLee had occupied earlier. "I paid a nurse 100
bucks to let me slip in since visiting hours are over."
Stephanie grinned. Jaylynn smiled slightly. Her face wasn't as
sore as it had been when she first woke up. It was either
because the muscles were loosening with movement or she had just
grown accustomed to the pain.
"What are you doing here?" Jaylynn
croaked. "I wanted to see how you were...and talk to you about
something." Stephanie admitted. Jaylynn nodded, signaling for
Stephanie to go on.
"Well, the writers had a meeting
at Raw tonight. We are trying to figure out a way to explain
what is going on. My father has demanded that we exploit this
incident." Stephanie told her bluntly. "Exploit?" Jaylynn
whispered.
"Yes. He wants us to do
Confediental shows on it, magazine articles, move the storylines
to work around it. He wants us to market reality." Stephanie
told her. "I don't have much of a choice, do I?" Jaylynn asked
and Stephanie shook her head sadly.
"How is Shane taking it?" Jaylynn
asked. "He doesn't know yet." Stephanie answered, shocked that
after all that had happened, Jaylynn was still concerned for her
brother.

The next morning Shane Helms stuck
his head inside Jaylynn's hospital room, expecting the worse.
Instead he found Jaylynn, free of IV's and machines, packing a
bag. She was dressed in a pair of black track pants, a white
tank top and a red jacket.
"What are you doing?" Shane asked
to Jaylynn's back. Jaylynn turned to him and he noticed that her
face wasn't nearly as bruised as he thought it would be.
"Packing. What are you doing here?" Jaylynn asked.
"Getting ready to leave for
Smackdown, but I thought I'd stop by and see how you are doing.
Now, why are you packing?" Shane asked. "Because I'm leaving
silly. And don't even start the lecture. I'm signing myself out
and going to the Smackdown taping." Jaylynn said.
"You shouldn't be leaving the
hospital yet. You just had the shit beaten out of you. I think
you're thinking you are stronger than you actually are." Shane
argued. "So what are you saying...I don't have superhero
powers?" Jaylynn grinned at him.
"You saw the show last night?"
Shane asked. "Yep. Cute promo." Jaylynn said, turning back to
her packing.
"Yeah, I thought so. You know,
what I said was true. IF you want me to teach McMahon a lesson,
I'll be glad to do it. All the guys in the back will." Shane
said. Jaylynn shrugged. "No. I don't need that. He was drunk and
things got out of hand. It's over now and I'd just like to
forget about it." Jaylynn said.
"NO! You can't just forget about
it! He wanted to kill you!" Shane said but Jaylynn interrupted
him. "That was just the alcohol talking." she said.
"Jaylynn, Shane wasn't that
drunk." Helms told her. Jaylynn blinked back tears, glad that
her back was to Helms and he couldn't see the tears. "I'm going
to the Smackdown taping and that's it. I've made up my mind."
Jaylynn said.
"And how do you expect to get
there?" Shane asked, not noticing that Jaylynn had changed the
subject on him. "I'm renting a car." she answered simply.
"I'm pretty sure that your pain
meds say that you shouldn't operate heavy machinery." Shane told
her. Jaylynn blushed, she hated that she wasn't strong enough to
deal with the pain without medication. She hated the fact that
she was still in so much pain. Every painful twinge reminded her
of how it had happened.
Jaylynn turned on her Angel smile.
"I'm not going to be driving a forklift, Shane. Just a car."
"No. If you insist on going, you can ride with me." Shane told
her.
Jaylynn faced him, her Angel smile
still in place. She hoped that he couldn't tell how much it
actually hurt to smile. "Ah, my Superhero." She said.
