Jaylynn stumbled down the hallway,
to the elevators, not really sure where she was going to go. She
hit the down button but heard a door slam down the hallway.
Deciding not to wait for the elevator, she ducked into the
stairway and stumbled down the stairs. She could hear Shane
McMahon shouting her name as he entered the stairwell.
Jaylynn picked up her speed a bit,
but she was in pain and couldn't make her body work as well as
she would have liked. "Jaylynn!" Shane roared a flight above
her. His feet pounded on the stairs and Jaylynn knew he had her.
She couldn't move fast enough.
She felt a hand pushing on her
back and she stumbled down the last few stairs before crashing
down on the cement landing.
Jaylynn curled herself into a
fetal position on the floor, waiting. Seconds later she felt a
couple of kicks to her side and then Shane grabbing a handful of
her hair. He pulled her tear streaked face up so she was looking
at him, alcohol assulting her senses.
"You little ungrateful bitch. I
gave you everything money could buy!" Shane yelled. "I didn't
want your God-damn dirty money." Jaylynn spat. Shane landed a
blow across her face again, and Jaylynn submitted to silence.
"I worked so hard on our
relationship and you never cared. Well you littel slut, if I
can't have you, no one will." Shane slurred to her and Jaylynn
felt fear squeezing her heart.
Shane pulled her up to her feet
and literally dragged her to the railing on the stairway. He
used the railing to choke her, cutting off her air enough to
make everything go fuzzy before throwing her over this shoulder
in a fireman's carry.
"Where are you taking me?" Jaylynn
asked hazily. "To the roof." Shane said. As his words sunk in,
her survival istinct kicked in. Swinging her feet, punching and
screaming, she struggled to get away from him.
Jaylynn thought she heard a pair
of feet stomp down in front of Shane and then she heard a punch
connect to Shane's jaw. The drunk man fell, dropping Jaylynn to
one side like a sack of potatoes.
Jaylynn remained motionless on the
floor and felt someone pick her up, cradling her to their chest.
"We'll call the police in my room. Just stay with me babygirl."
a southern voice called to her in the hazines.
"no...no police. Please. Not yet.
Just let me sleep." Jaylynn murmured before mercifully blacking
out.

Jaylynn tried to focus her mind on
the sounds around her. Her eyes were to heavy to open. She could
hear the whir of machines and the murmer of voices above and
around her.
"Jaylynn, squeeze my hand if you
can hear me." she heard a voice flood into her hazy mind.
Jaylynn squeezed lightly on the warm hand that had slipped into
hers. "You're going to be ok babygirl. You're safe now." the
southern twang told her. Jaylynn nodded slightly before allowing
herself to slip into the darkness again.

Stephanie sighed as she counted
out a stack of hundred dollar bills. Shane's bail money. A few
moments later Shane was walked out to where Stephanie was
waiting.
Stephanie didn't say anything unti
they were back in the limo. "Shane, you jackass. What were you
thinking? Do you realize exactly what you did to Jaylynn?"
Stephanie asked. "I don't remember a whole lot. I just know that
she broke up with me. And then drinking a lot. The next thing I
know, I woke up here." Shane murmured, leaving out the part
about why Jaylynn broke up with him.
"You beat the shit out of Jaylynn.
And I do mean beat. She still hasn't woken all the way up yet.
She's in the hospital. You nearly killed her. In fact, you were
going to kill her." Stephanie told him harshly.
Shane leaned back in the seat, his
eyes closed.
