either of us). And I use the wrestlers

"Jaylynn...you and I can go in to see Shane now." Matt spoke and Jaylynn snapped
out of her dazed trance. She followed Matt through the winding hopsital hallway
before the reached Shane's room. A security guard stood next to the door,
nodding at Matt, but eyeing Jaylynn warily. "It's okay, she's part of the
roster." Matt told the large man. He eyed her one more time before nodding and
letting them through.
Matt pushed open the hospital room door and motioned for Jaylynn to enter first.
Jaylynn heard the door click behind her and she turned to see Matt hadn't
followed her into the room.
Jaylynn felt akward as she turned to face SHane, who was lounging in the bed,
the covers thrown to one side, wearing a pair of sweatpants and no shirt.
Jaylynn's eyes roamed his chest and felt heat spreading across her face and a
few other places.
"Hey." She said to Shane, who was watching her curiously. 'Well, why wouldn't
he? I told him to stay away from my earlier and now I'm standing in front of
him, my face beet red, looking like a total dumbass.' Jaylynn thought to
herself.
"I, uh, how you feelin'?" she mumbled. Shane eyes her apprehensively befores
stating, "I'm as good as I could be for someone who had their face driven into a
mat."
An akward pause stretched between them as Jaylynn looked over his injured face.
His nose was covered by a small cast-like brace and his eyes were puffy and
already turning black and blue. "Listen, Shane, I'm sorry. I should have at
least listened to you earlier. Maybe then this wouldn't have happened." Jaylynn
said.
"Sweetheart, don't give yourself that much credit. True, I was upset that you
wouldn't forgive me, but not so upset that I sacrificed my welfare." Shane
chuckled. Heat burned across Jaylynn's high cheekbones once again. "I, uh, what
I meant was....well..." Jaylynn stuttered and Shane laughed again.
"Is that an apology?" He asked and Jaylynn nodded mutely. "Well, you don't need
to apologize. I still need to apologize to you. I shouldn't have told Jeff about
your past. I made a big mistake, a bad judgement call. And I know it'll be
awhile before you can trust me, but I hope you'll let me work at gaining it
back." Shane told her sincerely.
For some strange reason, Jaylynn threw her arms around Shane and hugged him
tightly. "I'm sorry. I was just so scared that something bad was about to happen
and I'd never see you again." Jaylynn mumbled into his chest.
Shane laughed and Jaylynn could feel his chest rumbling under her cheek. With a
start she realized how close her lips were to his bare chest and a slight
fluttering had started in the bottom of her tummy. She sat up, her eyes wide,
and she was sure she looked like a cartoon character with her eyes bugging out.
"I...I need to go. I'm glad you are okay. I'll-I'll talk to you later." Jaylynn
breathed out as she escaped through the door, leaving a confused Shane behind
her.
Leaning against the hallway wall, Matt was watching her with an amused grin on
his face. His hands were stuffed in his pockets so he wasn't able to block her
punch to his shoulder.
"Jerk!" She called him. "What? You're the one hitting me." He pouted, rubbing
his shoulder. "Go in and see your best friend, ya baby." Jaylynn grinned before
taking off down the hallway.
