Title: Even Angels Fall
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 20
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me. Tasha owns herself. (Heaven help the person who tries to claim he/she owns either of us).  And I use the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know yet *L*.
Summary: New Story

"Me? You have got to be joking." Jaylynn said, her eyes wide in shock. "I'm not sure exactly what happened, only that we are to keep this quiet. A little late for that I know, since the whole ring crew knows of it. But Stephanie asked that we try to keep it from her brother." Matt cast a glance at Jaylynn.

"This is Insane. You must have heard wrong. There is no reason for Jeff or Shane to be fighting." Jaylynn blabbered. "Both guys still have to be here for the show even though they aren't on the card anymore. We'll talk to them then." Matt promised.

Jaylynn nodded, finally stunned into silence. Why were they fighting? And what the hell did she have to do with it?

Jaylynn looked up as Jeff Hardy walked into the eatery. His emerald eyes met hers and he nodded. He grabbed a Mt. Dew and then sat down across from her. "I suppose you've heard about the fight?" he asked, posing it as more of a statement then a question.

"Yeah, well, I only heard the fight part. No one will say what it was about." Jaylynn hoped he wouldn't call her on the semi-lie. "Bullshit. THe whole place is talking. It's like we are back in high school." Jeff said, glancing around at the people watching them.

"Ok, all I was told was that it was about me. But I doubt that. There's no reason for you to fight about me." Jaylynn chattered, folding her hands and then refolding them on the table. Jeff's eyes watched her curiously, but he didn't speak. "Jeff, come on. Tell me what it was really about...please?" Jaylynn asked.

Jeff sighed, pushing a strand of hair out of his face. "I think you know the truth. You know the fight had to do with you. As to why we fought about you...I think you should ask Helms about that." Jeff said. Jaylynn pounded a fist on the table. "Stop telling me that! I asked you! I don't want to go ask McMahon...I mean, Helms." Jaylynn blushed at the name slip.

Jeff stared at her before shrugging. He stood to his feet before leaning down close enough to whisper. "He accused me of sleeping with you. Said I was just using you. Now you can get the rest of the story from him." Jeff said before straightening up and walking away.

Jaylynn walked down to the small room she had been told Helms was in. She stuck her head inside. "hey." she greeted quietly. "hey." he said, not looking up from his comic book.

"Can we talk?" Jaylynn asked, moving to stand inside the room. "If I said no would you go away?" Shane asked.

"survey says no." Jaylynn smiled slightly. "Then I guess I have no choice. What do You want to talk about?" Shane asked, still staring at the comic book.

"You know, World Peace, the mating habits of monkey's, your fight with Jeff." Jaylynn cracked as she took a seat near him. "World Peace would happen if everyone spent their time studying the mating habits of monkeys. There, are you happy now?" Shane asked bitterly.

"Stop being a whiny ass little bitch. I came here to get the truth." Jaylynn bit out at him, frustration echoing in every word. This caught Shane's attention and he looked up. "You want the truth? Well, so do I! First you chose Shane McMahon over me, and now it's Jeff Hardy? Don't even deny it! I saw the pictures on that stupid rumors site. Jeff leaving your hotel room. The touchy feely shit. Whatever. you both deserve each other." Shane spat.

"What? I didn't do anything.." Jaylynn started to say but Shane interrupted her. "The part that bugged me the most was that you knew how I felt, and so did Jeff. Did you really want to hurt me that badly? What did I Do to deserve to be treated that way Kat?" Shane cursed under his breath before leaving the room.

Stunned Jaylynn watched him go, realizing that the argument wasn't so much about her, but about Katrina. Tears spilled down her cheeks. Was that all she was, a fill-in since Katrina wasn't there? her understudy?

Jaylynn rushed from the room and found herself wrapped in a comforting embrace. Jaylynn sobbed as she clutched his arms. She didn't even know who it was holding her as she cried. Only that she need what he was offering her at the moment.
