As a pensioner's haven Taiping or Klian Pauh as it was formerly known was the first capital of Perak.

I first moved to Taiping way back in 1956 when I was three and then moved to Tapah and Kuala Kangsar where I studied at The Clifford School.6 months later in 1959 my father then got a promotion to head the Taiping Railway Station.
Taiping back then was really something thriving lots of Mat salleh and horses!
