Happy New Year!

I've been really busy and haven't really found the time to keep up with my site lately. I just wanted to mention a few things . . ..

I sent back the final, corrected proofs for Klandestine Maneuvers last weekend. Another month or so should go by before PA gets back to me on whether or not they've accepted Jason Richardson's design for the cover. I'm crossing my fingers on this one, since he really managed to capture my vision in the picture.

I have an excuse for my weight. My doctor has explained to me that I have a metabolic syndrome that keeps my muscles from absorbing sugar properly. What invariably happens is that the sugar becomes stored fat. I can joke about my excuse all that I want but the ending fact isn't very humorous. Left untreated, it can degenerate into diabetes.

God seems to be sending me one "spiritual anvil" after another to remind me to write. The training class for my new job included two other writers . . . one screenplay writer and a freelance writer. As if this weren't enough, our sales trainer is a playwright whose plays were popular for a time in Arizona. And he's a devout Christian.

Speaking of Christians, have you heard about the four of our fellow believers in Pennsylvania who are facing jail time for preaching the Gospel at a homosexual rally? They are facing 47 years in prison and fines of up to $90,000 each for, as the American Family Association says, three felonies: "possession of instruments of crime (a bullhorn), ethnic intimidation (saying that homosexuality is a sin), and inciting a riot (reading from the Bible some passages relating to homosexuality) despite the fact that no riot occurred." I could understand this happening in Korea or China. Maybe even in an Islamic country (although they aren't too fond of homosexuality, either). But in the U.S.? Are we now throwing the First Amendment out the window? I hope that whichever judge tries that case reads this next comment from me: The Rapture hasn't happened yet. My Brothers and Sisters are many and still here on the earth. If you find these Believers guilty of any crime, then you are doing the country a great disservice and the only thing that will keep riots from breaking out that will make the Rodney King riots seem like a hiccup is the fact that Christians . . . like the ones who are being unfairly tried . . . aren't violent. That and the fact that the liberal media is doing its best to keep this from becoming big news.

A letter of thanks is being sent to these four, brave souls who are standing up for what is right. Please take a moment to sign it here.

What is our world coming to? What kind of a world is my daughter going to find herself in when she is older? My prayers go out to those who stand up for a strong Faith in the Risen Christ.
