Deck Pendragon has always had a knack for art. By the age of ten, his paintings and sketches were fetching hundreds of dollars a piece in Missouri art fairs. Though his widowed mother was only just able to keep food on the table, she placed every dime of his earnings in a savings account for college.
When he was twenty, Deck received an Associates Degree in Art from the community college in "the Bluff." To celebrate, he took a trip to visit some distant relatives in Scotland. This "trip" kept getting extended until, five years later, he returned to the States with knowledge of weaponry. . How to make and use them.
Using a large chunk of his savings, he purchased a plot of land near Sera, built a cabin that resembled a miniature castle, and installed a forge. He travels around to various Renaissance Fairs to sell his weapons and also has a thriving mail-order trade. On off-seasons, he serves as a substitute art teacher at Sera school.
Deck especially crafted the ninja-tos for Jamie and Yoshi, making him the only person in Sera, besides Jamie�s family, who knows the young male ninja�s secret.
