Big mistake on Ford's part to let this property go. Yeah, the Blue Oval needs the bucks, but Jaguar has ten times the 'international cachet' than Lincoln does. Methinks that Billy-boy would have been better off in the long run with a stronger brand name like Jaguar. After all he could have sold 49% of Jaguar to Tata and still have retained controlling interest in the company.
