Pictures
Here is a picture of me and a fellow foreigner.  This is a prime example of English use gone horribly wrong in Japan.  Check out my links page to see a site with much funnier examples
Me and my cop buddy are pledging allegiance to bad English.  I'm not sure if my fellow foreigner is trying to say good luck, slow down, or maybe its not friendly at all.
I was lucky enough to have my former teacher and  mentor Keiko Yamakawa visit me in Aso.  She is the reason I became interested in Japan and she inspired me to teach English here.  And now I realize how tough it is teaching students like me!
Yamakawa Sensei and I are posing with Fukuoka Daiei Hawks player Matsunaka at a professional game at Fukuoka Dome.  Matsunaka won the triple crown in Japan this year.  He is also from Kumamoto prefecture and has been to Atlanta as part of the gold medal Japan baseball team in 1996.
If you ever come to Japan,  you need to know  that the names of stores have nothing to do with what business that place actually is.  I have seen a store named "Appetite" that was a hair salon. However, reassuringly I have not seen a store named "Long Hair" that was a restaraunt.
These two guys are advertising something that has absolutely no relation to the fact that they are dressed like a monkey and a duck. Obviously, as you all know, I am well-versed in the language of "acting like an idiot" so we got along great.
