| Sight words are high-frequency words. They are the words students encounter most frequently in their reading and need most often in their writing. There are 100 sight words in first grade. Each week I will introduce 5 new words. The students will learn to read and spell these words. Then the words will be placed on the word wall and will remain there for the rest of the year for the children to refer to. |
