Day 4

 

 

What’s on for today:

 

The class is going to focus on point of view.  The class is going to examine the narrator’s language on the day he kidnapped Miranda, the students will alter the story and language to fit their interpretation of Miranda’s point of view.

 

 

 

What to do:

 

  1. Read pages 23-27 in a circle each student reading a paragraph
  2. Students will break up into 5 groups and write Miranda’s point of view of the kidnapping.
  3. Students will perform their versions to the class
  4. Class will discuss how the voices are different and what happens when you change the point of view.

 

 

Homework:

           

Read pages 40-55 focus on the dialog, write journal entry on what you can infer about the characters based on what they are saying

 

The class was a success if:

 

-Students will be able to understand the narrator better based on his language

-Student will be able to interpret the text in Miranda’s point of view

-The performances show the thought put into analyzing both point’s of view
