Day 11

 

What’s on for today:

Students will take a quiz based on the reading they have done

Students will act out different points of view in the “Miranda getting sick scene”  Students will cut lines from the pages and pull out the important parts and perform them to the class.

 

What to do: 

 

1) Teachers gives out the quiz

1)Break the class into 4 groups

                                   

                                                            group 1: pgs 118-120, 284-286

                                                            group 2: pgs  286-290

                                                            group 3: pgs  290-294

                                                            group 4: pgs  275-279

 

2) Students will decide on how to act their given scene. They must decide in their group what tone the characters should have, what their movements should be, stage directions, what lines to cut, or add, and scenery.

 

3) Students will then perform their scene

 

4) As a class we will discuss the different view points and different ways the groups choose to portray the characters and scene.

 

Homework:

 

Read pages 170-190

 

The class was a success if:

 

-students were able to understand the quote from the quiz

-students were able to direct the scene and understand the narrator’s point of view

- class was able to compare and contrast the different performances and points of view
