U-2. You two. You two can see U2, and I saw U2 with 2 of my friends Wednesday May 9th in Milwaukee. (Sorry, I have a little too much free time on my hands...) My friends and I saw them at the Bradley Center -- this huge stadium -- it was sold out and we got nosebleed seats. So I guess I can say that I saw U2 play, but the members were about 1 inch tall. Our tickets were crap and about $50. I hear the lucky few that were on the ground paid $150 for their tickets. Since they sold out the place too, people paid $50 to sit directly behind the stage... yuck... I feel bad for those people.

Those jerks in Milwaukee charged $10 for parking and U2 merch was in no way cheap. I bought a shirt, but you had the choice of buying things that got as expensive as a jacket for about $70. I have to wonder how much those boys are making on this tour.. I'm sure it's more money per show than I've seen in my life.

Ok ok, sorry I'm b*tching here (Mom, did you notice I even censored myself there? Aren't you proud...); let me tell you what you want to hear. The show kicked ass! They had a big heart going out into the crowd on the floor, so Bono+the Edge were usually out on that platform walking around singing/playing. It was rad. There were moving lights and a video presentation, etc etc. It's U2. They go all out. They played my favorite song "I Will Follow" and hit all their other big hits. At one point Bono introduced all the band members and I was like like WTF? I already knew their names yaknow... plus I have seen U2 Behind the Music a million times. It was cute though, Bono was introducing The Edge and he's like "Even his mother calls him the Edge." (ahem, Mom, take notes!) They closed the 2nd encore with "Walk On" and you left happy.

It was Bono's birthday that evening, so I noticed a few signs that people brang saying "Happy Birthday" or whatnot. Bono at one point started singing "Happy Birthday" and the crowd picked it up and finished it -- that was really fun. Another really cool thing was before the show when we were trying to find our seats, I would walk past people with U2 shirts from earlier tours. It makes you realize how long they've been around and that they span a few generations now. That's really cool.

All in all, it was a good show, but I had to get back to school. I had class Thursday morning and so I got back in Madison at about 3am (it's 3am I must be lonely?) and had to get up at 7. Needless to say I wasn't terribly awake during my classes. God bless Coke.

Till the next concert.
