Colleen Fitzpatrick
Colleen Fitzpatrick was born in New Jersey in 1970. Hairspray was her first big break and certainly not her last. Since Hairspray Colleen had fronted a rock group, Eve's Plum, who recorded two albums together. Envy (1993) and Cherry Alive (1995) neither received chart success. In 1999 she signed a deal with Elektra Records. First of all she changed her name to Vitamin C and then she set about work on her debut album Vitamin C (1999). The album made platinum status and gave her three major hits Smile (1999), Graduation (2000) and Me Myself and I (2000).
The album proved tough to follow up and despite critical acclaim her sophomore album More (2001) bombed debuting way beyond the Billboard Top 100. The album included the singles The Itch (2001) and As Long As Your Loving Me (2001). Colleen took a role in Wes Craven's Dracula (2001) and Get Over It (2001) as well as a small cameo in Scary Movie 2 (2001).
Colleen also took part in Celebrity Boot Camp (2002) as Vitamin C alongside fellow pop star and 80's icon Tiffany. She was last seen in summer 2003 with a new single Last Nite (2003) a cover of The Strokes Last Nite (2002) which sampled Blondie's Heart Of Glass (1979). It slumped at number 70 in the UK, it was also her UK debut. She also contributed a new song to The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003) soundtrack a cover of the classic 50's hit Volare.
Colleen's first 'Vitamin C' album (1999), it was certified Platinum (1,000,000 sales) in the USA in 2000.
