| Myths And Facts Regarding Other Drugs |
| ACID Also known as LSD or LSD-25, the scientific name of the chemical is D-Lysergic Acid Diethylamide. First used, albeit accidently, by a human (Albert Hoffman, it's creator) in 1943, it did not hit the streets for another 20 years but has since become widely used by those who wish to "expand their mind". There are many myths regarding the drug, for example the myth that it remains in the body for life (something I myself believed until I did some more research into the topic). Research has shown that the drug is fully metabolised a couple of weeks after taking the drug. Although from what I can gather it can be a life changing experience, as it allows you to think about things in an entirely new way. Admittedly there is the possiblity of a bad trip, but the risk of this can be seriously reduced by ensuring the drug is taken in a safe environment with friends who can talk you down from any negative thoughts you may begin to have. The effects of the drug last for a few hours, but are very difficult to describe as words lose are often insufficant to describe the experience. The user becomes euphoric, experiences hallucinations and seem to be able to cross between different states of consciousness. This is only a brief outline of some of the issues regarding the drug, for more infomation I suggest visiting the Erowid LSD Vault. |
