2008/2009 JAHSA Calendar
Ongoing Events:
Ice Skating will begin in October and run through March. We will meet the second Friday of every month at the John Wilson Skating Arena in Jamestown from 1:00 - 3:00. Prices are $5.00 per family, or $3.00 for an adult and $2.00 per child. Skate Rental is available. Each month we meet we will have a themed party, so this is going to be a great time to socialize and have fun!
Swimming Lessons will also be available on Thursday afternoons. I will e-mail you the schedule/prices for this class as soon as I receive it from the instructor.
Homeschool Gymnastics will be held on Wednesdays from 1:00 - 2:00. There will also be tot and preschool classes available as well as a new class called "Acro Dance". Please see attachment for more details regarding gymnastics. If you have questions, contact Stacy Collins at: [email protected]
Mom's Coffee - Moms meet every Friday at The Meeting Grounds Coffee House in Jamestown at 3:00.
Bible Study at Carla Day's house - the third Thursday evening of every month beginning in September. More details to follow, or contact Carla at [email protected]

Monday, September 15th - Field Trip to Fort Totten for "Living History Day." Rebecca Nyberg will be sending out additional info regarding this event.
Friday, September 26 - Art Appreciation at First Baptist Church of Jamestown, 2:00 PM; more info to follow.
October
We have two events planned this month, dates to be determined:
For High Schoolers - A Night of Philosophy, a logic class presented by Professor Lang (teacher at Jamestown College).
Corn Maze in Jamestown, near Fort Seward.
November
Wednesday, November 5th - Health and Nutrition Class presented by the County Extension Office; First Baptist Church of Jamestown - 2:00 PM
Exact date to be determined: Field Trip to Frontier Village and a "Thankful Potluck Dinner"
December

January
Friday, January 16 - Art Appreciation; First Baptist Church of Jamestown, 2:00 PM
February
Date to be Determined: Speech Meet - Oral Presentations of Poetry, Bible Verses, Comedic Material, etc. Rebecca Nyberg will send more detailed information as time draws closer.
March
North Dakota Home School Convention will be March 19 - 21 at the Jamestown Civic Center, more info to follow!
April
Date to be Determined: Geography Fair - students will present a country through a display board and make a food from that country as well. More info to follow.
Friday, April 24 - Art Appreciation; First Baptist Church of Jamestown, 2:00 PM
May
The beginning of May, date to be determined: The Village, back by popular demand! Students create a business! This is just like we did last year - more info to follow for those of you who are new this year.
The end of May, date to be determined: The Second Annual Jamestown Area Home School Association Art Exhibit at the Arts Center. Students will be able to take part in an art show and bring the masterpieces created during our Art Appreciation classes that were held throughout the year.
