Dear Homeschoolers,

Ready for a big, fun project?  Please read below about our upcoming state-wide convention in Jamestown March 2009. We need a team of people to pull this off.  If everyone participates, each job will be small and manageable.  I am in charge of the Jamestown effort, and I look forward to working with you all.  If you know any homeschoolers in Valley City or surrounding areas, please invite them to this meeting

Come to the Jamestown Civic Center Tuesday, Aug 5, 1:30pm for an informational meeting.

From Lori Kenney at the NDHSA:

I will be coming to visit the Jamestown Civic Center on Tuesday, August 5th, to look at the facility one more time and make my final decisions where to place everything/everyone. I would LOVE to have a meeting there with anyone from Jamestown that is interested in helping with the convention. It always helps to meet face to face. I did this in Grand Forks about 3 times before the convention, and it was a HUGE help to me and helped everyone to know each other. We will have that meeting at: 1:30 p.m., Tues. August 5th. Meet at the main doors of the upper concourse (where most people come in).

Secondly, I am in need of some team members. My convention team are those people who work closely with me throughout the year, each heading up one area of the convention. Some work takes place beforehand, and some just on-site. I have attached a listing of the job descriptions for each position. Some are eligible for free registration. Here are the team members I am in need of this year:

Friday Night Coordinator

Used Book Sale Coordinator

Hospitality Coordinator

Workshop Speaker Coordinator

Marketing Coordinator

Volunteer Coordinator

Bag Stuffing Coordinator

Lastly, I will have need of volunteers who will commit to 2 hour shifts (that is at max) and will only have to work on-site, nothing beforehand. These jobs include, but are not limited to: greeters, registration table, set up, tear down, food service, ushers, and workshop monitors. These jobs are not eligible for free registration.

Well, this is where I am at in a nutshell. Looking forward to working with your group - and please, let's continue to be in touch and pass the word that we will need host homes - and plenty of them with the way the economy is going. It would be so pleasant if Jamestown would open it's doors to other home school families and allow them to stay in their homes.
