Webring F.A.Q!
(Last Updated: 26th January 2002)

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING ADDING YOUR JAMES SPADER SITE TO THE RING, PLEASE THIS FAQ

This WebRing will make finding information about James Spader much much easier for fans and encourage Ring Members to work their pages together.

2. How does a WebRing work?

Basically, a "webring" is a directory of list of websites which have the same subject, in this case its the wonderful actor James Spader.

Each James Spader Page webmaster puts the HTML Navigation code on their front page and when a websurfer wants to look at another page in the ring they click on the Navigation Bar which takes them to another James Spader WebRing page!

This gives each website more visitors, and lets websurfers view high-quality James Spader sites!

3. How Do I Join The James Spader WebRing

First of all your site must meet the few requirements below. These requirements aren't meant to limit any creativity in web design, but to make sure each page is interesting and enjoyable web-surfers!

Then you can join by clicking here.

4. The minimum requirements of this ring are;

  • You must have an existing page that is partially, or fully dedicated to James Spader.
  • You must have a working email address.
  • This ring generates a moderate stream of traffic to each site and to be fair on all members to receive hits, please put your HTML Navigation Bar on your Entry or Main page.
  • If your website contains profanity, or sexual references please put a disclaimer somewhere on your site just in case the websurfer happens to be underage or sensitive.

5. Your page WON'T be considered if;

  • it contains excessive profanity.
  • it contains excessive sexual references/pictures.

  • Note about the above rules: We're all adults (well most of us) and if a website contains this material we either like it or we don't - we can either view it or go to the next page, easy. However no one wants to view a page that's "over the top".

  • it publishes Celebrity "Home Addresses"
  • Note about the above rule: How would you feel if someone put your address on the Internet without asking you first? You wouldn't like it. How do you think James Spader (or any celebrity for that matter) would feel if he saw HIS family home address on a website? I can guess that he wouldn't enjoy that, and he wouldn't like YOUR webpage, or this WebRing! So these pages are OUT OF THE QUESTION.

  • it is a replica of or very similar to another page in the ring (in part or total, this includes images and/or information) or another James Spader page for that matter.

Note about the above rule: No one wants to go to another website and see the same information and pictures... variety is the spice of life AND the Internet... be creative.... use your imagination! :)

Please do not submit pages that are an off-line"work of progress". Your page must be an online prototype.

It is not in the interest of the ring to send a websurfer to a page that is waiting to be made or totally under construction

6. What happens after I submit my application?

Your application will be placed in a Submission Queue. The URL will then be visited by the RingMistress.

If your page meets the requirements for the ring you will receive an email with instructions for the HTML Navigation Code (which creates a Navigation Bar) required on your page.

7. What does the Navigation Bar look like?

There is one on this page here.

8. Do I have to add the HTML Navigation Code to my page?

Yes.

The purpose of the ring is to give ALL sites in the ring more hits, and let people find high quality James Spader websites, so without the Navigation Bar, you're creating a "broken link" in the chain of James Spader sites.

NB: If you do not add the Navigation Code to your website, the WebRing will automatically suspend it from the webring so make sure you put it on your page promptly.

9. I'm already a member of this ring. How do I edit my info and/or get the HTML Navigation Code?

You can edit your info, and get the HTML Navigation code here:
http://p.webring.com/wrman?ring=jamesspader&id=11&edit

10. Help! I can't find the Navigation Code on the WebRing website!

Once you have logged into the Webring page (the link is in the previous question - look up) go to Member Tools, click on Get Navigation Code

The code should be on this page, or if not, click on the link at the bottom of the page which says:

"Members who wish to use the HTML version of this nav bar should go here."

Once you've got the code, highlight it and then copy the whole thing, then insert it into your webite.

11. I can't see the answer to my question on this page!

If you have a question that is not answered in this FAQ, email [email protected] or for more information on Webrings, WebRing.Org have a good help page here.
