| Sun, 15 Jun 2003 06:28:49 +1000 Hi All, So I'm back on a Moose tour and its great to be back in an organised group again. Had a great last few days in Toronto I went to Niagara Falls and then did a city tour which was really good (I thought it was going to suck), didn't get a chance to go up the CN tower so I plan to do that when I get back. The reason I didn't go up was that when I planned to go it got foggy and the tower disappeared! Also went to a Toronto Blue Jays (Baseball) game which was great and very very inexpensive ($2 tix). So yesterday we were in Kingston which is a little place north of toronto. Went on a tour of the thousand islands this morning, stayed on a boat last night and tonight we're in Montreal. The Grand Prix is on here tomorrow so there are heaps of people here. Tour's going well, my new guide is an absolute nutter, the weather pretty much sucks at the moment (I haven't seen the sun in about a week and its supposed to be summer!), so yesterday we walked in the rain through the sand dunes to lake ontario. Alls good until we decided not to take the same path back which resulted in myself and one other girl getting piggy backs over the puddles which were more like mini lakes! He then took us to the lake on the mountain and told us this long story which basically ends with the idea that if you put you face in the lake for 7 seconds you'll have eternal love! SO we then had to put our faces in the water. So for the last 2 days I've been wet for about 80% of the time. Tonight we're going out in the town with all the racing freaks which should be fun as our group splits up tomorrow. No other goss or news I'm afraid. I've booked my train to Halifax and should be there Friday 27th of June which means that by mid July hopefully I'll have an address. However I have now got a cell number ! 416 822 1432 I can receive calls on this number but can't dial Australia on it. Hope everyones well. Love you all, Goochie Fri, 27 Jun 2003 01:24:49 +1000 Hiya, Well I'm back in Montreal for the day before catching the train to Halifax tonight. Last time I wrote I had just started my tour with my crazy driver. Well needless to say that it didn't get any calmer. We had water pistol fights, did water pistol drive bys in Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa, as well as playing capture the flag with of course water pistols and bombs! So needless to say I spent about 1 day of my tour dry. Also in the last week I have been whale watching in Tadoussac (hippy central!), saw the Northern Lights which was way cool, been to Quebec, Ottawa (met my drivers younger brother whom he just woke up to meet a bus load of girls), Mont Tremblant, Fort Collounge where I went white water rafting, cycling and kayaking, Maynooth, and went to the beach at Wasaga which is actually a lake, as well as back to Toronto where I went up the CN tower in the boiling hot sun. So I've had another awesome tour and was totally gutted when I had to say good bye to my group in Fort Collounge where I stayed in a tent. Yes four of us got off so we could go white water rafting and had to stay in tents. Quite an experience staying with 2 british girls who don't cope very well with mossies! White Water rafting was very very cool, the funniest thing was that our guide fell out during the biggest rapid of the day. Fortunately we had a spare guide in our boat who was able to get us through without being flipped, however the funniest thing was watching my guide hang onto the boat and try to get back in while we were still going through the rapids. So much to say and so little space so I'll leave it for when I get home and show you the photos. I'll just let you know that its finally summer over here and it is quite HOT. On Tuesday it reached 37 degrees, but luckily that was the day we went to the beach so it was pretty nice to have hot weather. For now I'm busy trying not to get run over and trying to understand people pointing and yelling at me in French before I get on a train again tonight for another 20 hour train ride out to Halifax. From there I spend 4 nights before I start a final tour which goes to PEI. Once that's over I will finally be able to find somewhere to live and get a job and NOT live out of a pack for a couple of months. Hope everyone's well, keep sending me emails. Love you lots, Goochwa PS anyone who know's Coags tell him I found him a girl! |
