Doc Nagel has a bit on his web page called Fun Facts About Pittsburgh, containing facts which are not, in and of themselves, fun. He was essentially doing a riff on the absurdity of the place. This is my reflection that, if one is suffering the kind of crushing depression Chris always seemed to be suffering from in those days, maybe one would actually see the impossibilities, not to say downright insults, of a place like Pittsburgh as a challenge. But hey, don't get me wrong: I do love Pittsburgh . . .
