Goku is
a male Chinese Sharpei. He is now 6 months young. He is under
the loving care of my girlfriend (Thanks that she is also a dog
lover) at Bacoor, Cavite. Goku is an "adopted" dog.
Here is the story how I adopted little Goku.
A friend
of mine, Ms. Cristela Wu, one night, phoned me asking if I want
to adopt a Pure Breed "with papers" Chinese Sharpei.
Because it is unusual to give somebody a purebred "papered"
dog to anybody specially a Chinese Sharpei, I asked why? Is there
any problem? she answered yes, there is a problem. The pup is
blind. When I heard this, my hearth suddenly stops beating for
few seconds and without much thinking I accepted the offer. I
ask why he is blind? My friend told me that the pup have an entropion.
Their vet checked the puppy and said it is already blind. And
the owner/breeder (her sister Rita) cannot stand seeing this
poor puppy suffering, She offered it to me and only to me. Inside
my mind, I know I can still do something or even try to do something
so I accepted the offer. After that last conversation, I decided
to pick up the puppy. My GF Irene with his brother-in-law Bobby
accompanied me. When Irene and I saw the puppy, I felt differently.
I fell inlove with a very deep of pity inside my hearth. The
pup is so cute with those overlapping wrinkles but with closed
eyes. He is also very very quiet, a typical of a blind. In short,
I take him home with me that night.
The following
morning, I bring Goku to my vet (Dra. Sicam) to check him. I
am very very happy that my vet told me that there is still something
we can do! She said that she will perform "tucking"
procedure wherein the loose skins in his eyes will be "tucked".
So I agreed and my vet told me to pick him up later in the evening.
The evening comes, I got really excited to see how the tucking
goes. I am delighted to see his both eyes for the first time!
so, I took him home with the largest smile in my face.
After
weeks of medications, his eyes is fully functional and Goku becomes
a whole new pup that transforms from a very timid and quiet to
a very lovable and active pup!
He is
now doing well with Irene. How Goku got into Irene's hands? one
simple answer - Irene fell inlove with Goku and ask me if she
can have Goku and with her promise that she will take care of
him, I did not hesitate and I did not regret it. at least twice
a week, I able to see and play with Goku in Cavite. You can see
that he is very happy and pleased on who he is right now.
