hell                     11-8-93


last night
in the depths of a nightmare state 
i dreamed that i was in hell 
with all its trappings 
spare and few

a place of silence 
broken by the sounds of thoughts 
emanating from my significant 
others/
their breath sounds
the sounds of their hearts

what a paradox 
that everything biological 
was intact
here there was the stark disbelief 
of just being here 
for trivial reasons

and here came the realization 
that the monotheistic god 
of the ages 
is an avenger/ 
hostile and cruel/

determined to have heaven
to himself
without the chaos 
of lesser minds .....
