For Nyrma 10-30-89
v. 1 If you have a love for water
I will give you drink. Let me pass the cup,
with trembling hand.
I am fire, and water causes me fear.
Yet I will give you to drink.
That should tell you much.
My fear of water I will overcome,
If it means slaking your thirst.
v. 2 You are the Spirit of the Gypsy of some
Other time, that I will not doubt.
I have not forgotten.
What made your resurrection
Significant/
Even though your reincarnation
Was assured?
You are timeless/placeless
Just like me in this time/place
Where neither really belong.
v. 3 Fire is my Element,
And for you I light a fire
As a symbolic offering.
Partake, and radiate warm.
v.4 I cannot pay homage to the seas
For that would not be of my kind/
I come from a distant world
A dry land
Where rains are infrequent
Seas distant/ rivers few
A dry land, yet stunningly
Beautiful
v.5 You saw me once in a rare moment
Of insight
As I truly am.
I regret that you were frightened.
Had you forgotten, Gypsy woman
What you had learned in the past?
No, I think not.
Sleep walking among the
Dreaming innocent
Was never among your destinies.
