A SEARCH FOR CONSCIOUSNESS

man conscious
but at what level of consciousness/ 
consciousness is always being conscious of something 
but at what point in a man's evolution does he 
realize that his prevailing consciousness 
is inadequate and that he has the fullest opacities to aspire 
for much more than he has already achieved/ 
that he desires to become much more than his 
basic instinct to the unconscious nature?

to elevate the consciousness to a higher level 
of conscious functioning takes not only exposure to 
a broad continuum of new and dynamic ideas 
but a resolution and dedication to achieve this end

desire turns into compulsion 
for a transformation of self into higher man 
replete with wisdom is at stake

gratification comes in not only self recognition 
of the transformation but also, vitally, a recognition 
of the higher conscious self by other men 
who reinforce you with admiration and veneration

in the words of albert camus: 
 "it is others who beget us. only in association do we 
  receive a human value, as distinct from an animal 
  value"
but we are capable of more than even mere human value 
and for this one should be willing to not only risk 
possible madness that superior consciousness brings, 
but if necessary, even death itself ...
