THE ADVENT OF FALL

officially it's fall
but the fall so far has been unusually mild

i'm a bit prematurely here at my sacred space/ place 
in the park astride the holy woodlands

the fruits of the catalpa tree hang full and lush; 
only the first traces of color are evident on the 
other trees as the catalpa begins to turn yellowish

wild purple flowers are in bloom 
i take a small stalk to bring back to the girls 
at the cafe

this is a season of changes/ 
i like this metamorphosis 
and eagerly await nature to be at her peak 
of color
perhaps in 10 to 14 days

i am patient
and dill return then 
but for now nature needs nothing from me 
but an appreciative eye and mind...
