     James's mother Theresa Elizabeth Major,
formely of Roses, Long Island, was the daughter of Abel major and Leliah Ann nee Dean Major.
Her brother was Joseph Kindred ("J.K.") Major.
Her aunts were Emma Dean, mother of Lady Caroline Butler and Alicia Finley, (mother of CephaDarville), sisters of Leliah.

Theresa was the best laundry woman in town
and worked for the Armbrister's of the Eastern Road, the Rae's of Fowler Street, The Butler's of Shirley Street, the Thompsons of the Pond and many others.

Grumma Leliah ran the household and helped with the laundry.  Laundry was "boiled" in tubs and "blue" was added to the rinse water.

James's only sister, Mary Elizabeth Catalyn Brennen, (whom he affectionately calls "Titty"), is the eldest of the four.  He has always been extremely close with his sister and as a child,
followed her around.  (He was the little lamb that Mary had, from the Nursery Rhyme.

Happily retired now, Mary gave the best years of her life as a true and dedicated teacher to many  successfull Bahamians of today and before.

She has a special, sweet and gifted way with young children.  She always wears a smile and is full of soft, kind, endearing and encouraging words.

She and her husband Alfred are the proud parents of Claudia Seymore, Pastor Barrington Brennen, Judith Edwards and Ann Albury.

James brother, Peter David Catalano, is the third eldest child.  Peter is the "Jack of all trades" man of the family. James fondly remembers when Peter built a "one man band".  Music is Peter's passion.

Although also enjoying retirement, you may  always find Peter working hard in the yard at home.  He worked as Paymaster for B.E.C. but still now pursues a lenthy musical career as a drummer in The Lou Adams Ochestra at the posh Lyford Cay Club.

Peter and his wife Theresa are the proud parents of Derek
(Native Stew), Kirk, Gina Pieri and David.
Catalano is the original Italian family name.
