I saw the first preview performance of The Good Intent at The Queens Theatre and thought that it was absolutely brilliant.

Before the show all the cast milled around on the stage, a couple even had a joke with some people sitting in the front row.

Phil plays the part of a pilot called Charlie who is based at RAF Hornchurch.  He is great in this role and he also plays a military policeman looking for a Navy Deserted Jim.  Phil gets to sing the first song of the show and although I didnt catch the title and he sang it with real emotion and it was a beautiful song.

James Earl Adair plays the role of Pops, a chief at RAF Hornchurch but his bigger role is that of an ARP called Arthur, hes great in this role and he is really funny and James definitely has some of the best comedy lines in the show.

Nick Lashbrook didnt seem to have a very important role in the show being content to sit back and let the others take part in the main action while he played the trumpet.  Nick however was biding his time until his character, that of Navy deserter Jim, and what a part for him Nick is sensational.

Loveday Smith plays the part of Edie, a WAAF who is in love with Charlie (Phil Reed, she is a fantastic trumpeter and is a great singer.

Of the other cast the best has to be Ben Goddard as Sanders Draper, in terms of story he is the star of the show and he is brilliant, having not only a brilliant singing voice but great musical ability.

If you can get along to Hornchurch then do go and see The Good Intent as its just brilliant.
