Index
James comes to this show direct from a limited run in FAME at the Prince of
Wales theatre in London.  Prior to this he played Hi-Pockets in BUDDY
for two years at the Strand Theatre in London.

Other London credits include Duke in ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT (Phoenix Theatre), Jamie in KINGDOM COME (Roundhouse) and Peter in NO SEX PLEASE, WE'RE BRITISH (Strand Theatre).  His extensive work at the Liverpool Playhouse includes the roles of Slim in OF MICE AND MEN, Gerry in NO TRAMS TO LIME STREET and the Sherriff of Nottingham in ROBIN PRINCE OF SHERWOOD.

He has also appeared at other provincial theatres as King Arthur in THE
QUEST (Queen's Festival, Belfast), Harris in THE LONG BURROW (Frankham
Open Air Theatre), Tom in MY FAT FRIEND (Bromley), Tranio in THE TAMING OF THE SHREW (Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury), Bassanio in SHYLOCK (Edinburgh Festival) Joseph in FOLLOW THE STAR (Chichester) and Cable in SOUTH PACIFIC (Leicester Haymarket).

James has also toured Canada as Grimsdyke in DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE and in
CARRY ON BARBARA (World Tour).

National tours include the role of Jospeh in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING
TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Jesus in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and Mr Myers in FAME - THE MUSICAL.

For many years he presented the television programme WATCH for BBC
Schools and recorded three albums in conjunction with the series.

James is also a writer and various commissions include the play DRIVE
YOUR ROAD for Borderline Theatre Company.  He also devised and taught a
creative writing course for the inmates of Oxford Prison.
