| Allen Quarles and Rebecca Wilson were married in Attala County, Mississippi in 1851. They lived there for 3 years before moving to Louisiana. Allen bought 320 acres of land in Jackson Parish, Louisiana, moving to Natchitoches Parish and eventually settling around Chestnut, Louisiana sometime after 1870. He farmed all of his life and was a respected member of the community. He cut his foot on a plow and died of blood-poisoning in 1881. He is buried at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Rebecca stated on the 1900 census that she gave birth to 12 children and 9 were still living at that time. She was a mid-wife and delivered a number of children in the Goldonna, Louisiana area. she is buried at Goldonna Cemetery. The children of Allen and Rebecca are: Francis E. married Edward Lacey Brewton Stephen F. married Madora Carson Riley Pennuel married Victoria Hall Emily Lenora married Miles Osbon James Harlan married Emma Catherine Carson Alice I. married Robert T. Kornegay Florence Rebecca married Allison Nick Moore Fredric Allen married Mary Magdeline Alexander There may possibly have been other children, but no records have been found.
