Poop goes into an ammo can or some other container.  These need to be approved by the managing agency (Bureau of Land Management or National Park Service).  The original river runners used lots of leftover army gear.  The ammo can became the toilet of choice for a while.  It was ungarnished with luxuries like seats.  You say your ass down and when you got up, two grooves would indent each of your butt cheeks.  As a result, most river runners call a toilet a groover.

It's been a strange year weather-wise out west.  The Arkansas which usually runs May, June and part of July is still runnable in late August.  This is from lots of rain.  The nice things about rain in the desert is that it brings everything to life.  Plants flower and tadpoles swim in pools of rainwater.  May of this year was was, not like Seattle say, but by desert standards wet and wll, it was just beautiful.
