From
Barcelona I traveled to the area of Spain where Salvador Dali did much
of his work and where his house is. Figueres and Cadaques.
There is a quality to the sky, the light, the Mediterranean, and the
white plastered houses on the rocky shore that are very familiar to Dali
fans. And the Dali Museum! Dali was a master painter.
There were three stereoscopic paintings at the museum. You viewed
them as you would a stereo photo. But imagine the skill of a
painter able to paint the exact same scene from two vantages points?
This
is the interior court of the Dali museum in Spain. The outside is
just as fanciful maybe more so.
From
here I traveled to Madrid for a day or so and then flew home to New
York. I shaved some of the time but I wanted to have as much of a
beard as possible when I got home to bug Angie. She doesn't like
beards. So here I am. Home from 10 weeks of traveling around
Europe. I can't say it's a very impressive beard.
