Born Thomas Sean Connery in Edinburgh,Scotland in 1930, he went on to become the first James Bond.Connery led the James Bond series through some of its mostsuccessful years by combining his suave screen presence withhis natural ability to deliver the classic Bond one-liners.Connery's big break came when Bond producers Albert Broccoliand Harry Saltzman saw him in Darby O'Gill and the LittlePeople and On the Fiddle. It was his performance in these twofilms that caught their eye, and consequently he was signed to a seven year contract.
