With Live and Let Die, Roger Moore began his twelve year reign over the title of Bond, James Bond. In that time, Moore starred in seven Bond films (one more than Sean Connery if you deduct Never Say Never Again.) Moore brought a comic style to Bond which contrasted sharply with Connery's seriousness. Born on October 14, 1927 in London, Roger Moore signed a contract with MGM in 1953 after serving in the British army. Roger Moore was already quite recognizable before playing Bond because of his role as Simon Templar in The Saint in 121 episodes between 1962 and 1969.
