Pierce Brosnan - Movie Shift: 1995 - Present - Bond Movies: Goldeneye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), "Bond 20" (2002).

Pierce Brosnan took over the helm of the Bond series in "GoldenEye" which catapulted the 007 back to the top of the box office. After his performance in Remington Steele, Bond film producer Albert "Cubby" Broccoli signed him to play the legendary secret agent in The Living Daylights. But with all the publicity the announcement produced, Remington Steele's ratings pulled the series back from hiatus and the show's producers opted to sign Brosnan for a few more episodes. This dashed is chances -- for then at least -- of becoming Bond, and Timothy Dalton was chosen for the part. Brosnan was born on May 16, 1953 in Ireland where he lived until he moved to London at the age of 11. He attended drama school and later starred in British theater productions such productions as Zeffirelli's Filumena, and Wait Until Dark.
