My wife, Karen, and I started with one beagle 10 years ago and after about 3 years
and we noticed that a lot of people buy beagle puppies because they are so cute,
but they soon grow up and become REAL dogs.
Dogs that bark and dig and chew and need to be feed and are high energy dogs, NOT house dogs.
Soon people were asking use to take their beagle because they couldn't or wouldn't
take care of them. So, soon we had three beagles, then we were approached by someone
who had a beagle that was more that just neglected, he was being physically abused.
We got Montana from a violent home, he had a broken rib and was in pretty bad shape.
In fact the husband finally murdered the wife, now in Jail. And now we had four.
Barney, the fifth, was basically thrown away in the owner's backyard.
He hadn't been fed in several days and was brought to us by the Grandmother who just
couldn't take it anymore.
The sixth and final beagle is Bonnie, she was used for breeding and when she got to the
end of her usefulness, the owner was going to kill her. We've had her 1 year, and
she is just starting to be socialized with the other dogs and
people.
