picture was taken at the Lotus-booth at the IAA - the biggest international
motorshow located in Frankfurt / Germany. They have suspended two Elises
in order to demonstrate their 'Lightness' |

is a nice example with the factory-fitted hardtop. The hardtop is available
from £ 1.000 on. According to Lotus this hardtop will make the Elise
a real 'weatherproof'-vehicle |

ELISE-Space Frame! The backbone of the Elise made by the same Swedish company,
that also produces the frames for the Renault Spyder. Totally manufactured
of epoxy bonded aluminium-beams makes this space frame extremely light. |

concept of the Elise: No airbags, no brake-assistance, no power-steering,
no ABS, no traction control, no air-conditioning, no power-windows,
no cup-holders, no ashtray (but a cigar-lighter), no roof, almost no boot-space,
mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, refined driving physics, excellent handling,
a weight of mere 670kg., extreme sexy looks and a looooooooooot o'fun! |
