FIFTEEN
"Nigel, you must act quickly!" insisted Merlin. "The opposition have released a bigger threat than they ever have done, and this needs to be stopped. Therefore, to ensure a safe exit back to the dungeon, I am giving you a RETURN spell. Use it only when the time is right however, for at least one major challenge still awaits you. Good luck!" And with that Merlin vanished.
Treguard looked sternly, and Terry wasted no time in guiding Nigel through the exit. In the next chamber stood the great causeway.
Before the team stood the first half of the causeway, with various shapes on each tile. Nigel was standing on a triangle. Duane worked out that the sequence would be square, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon and octagon. So Terry guided Nigel across safely using this sequence, and onto the second half.
Here were the letters, A, R, F and E. The advisors cocluded that the word they were looking for was "Fear", so Terry instrcuted Nigel to step on the letters via F, E, A and R. A new causeway formed using those same letters, so Nigel again crossed via "Fear" in letters order. The team had done it; they were now entering the final chamber.
The chamber looked surprisingly empty, so Nigel was quickly guided to the exit. However, Lord Wraith then suddenly appeared before them!
"Well, so near, but yet so far!" smirked Wraith. "You've come all this way just to witness my two demons tear apart Knightmare Castle. But you don't need to see that - I think I'll kill you right now"
Treguard urged the team to act quickly, so Duane instrcuted Nigel to call Gabriel's name three times.
"Gabriel, Gabriel, Gabriel!" At once the mage appeared before Nigel and Wraith.
"Greetings, dungeoneer...." said Gabriel, "....and greetings to you, Wraith!"
"You really think Gabriel can defeat me?" laughed Wraith. "Never mind, I'll finish both of you instead."
"You may think that." acknowledge Gabriel. "But I have since acquired.... The Anode of Banisment!"
"How did you get that?" sked Wraith in anger, but Gabriel was already beginning to work on the anode, and with a click of his fingers, he had sucked a howling Wraith into it.
"My legacy lives through my demons!" shrieked Lord Wraith before he disappeared for eternity.
"That's him dealt with, you have to return to Knightmare Castle." said Gabriel to Nigel. At once Andy cast the RETURN spell, and Nigel reappeared in the antechamber.
Gabriel then soared into the sky where he noticed Myushtra and Sonchara, and the two demons turned to confront him. Gabriel summoned two of his superior strength fireballs.
"Time for both of you to meet your maker - CHEBUUUUGGGGIIII!!!!" roared Gabriel as the fireballs hit both demons with such force they they began to fall down back to earth. Gabriel followed them, igniting the Anode of Banishment in the process. Soon after Myushtra and Sonchara had hit the ground, Gabriel hurled the anode at them and annhilated both them and Lord Wraith within an instant.
Treguard, Frego, Duane, Terry, Andy and Nigel were soon reunited with the rest of the Powers That Be, and all of them had watched the ending of Lord Wraith and his two demons. Then Treguard noticed that Nigel was still holding the lamp.... he immediately rubbed it and out popped Majida!
It was it this point that the dungeoneer and his three advisors had successfully completed their quest, so Merlin cast four Frightknight trophies for Nigel, Duane, Terry and Andy, a winning team. Jeremy Gaylord was turned back into a human in the process, but that's a different matter....
Treguard insisted that it was time to see how Lord Fear was tasting defeat once again. The Powers That Be's attention turned to the screen before them.
"Lissard, I do not believe it!" stormed Fear. "The first dungeoneer in 10 years and they make the Opposition look pathetic! But we'll have a better Opposition given another 10 years, mark my words..."
"But what if the Powers That Be get even stronger, Lordness?" asked Lissard.
"Shut up." replied Fear. Just then Gabriel appeared before them.
"What now?" moaned Lord Fear.
"I've come for revenge...." smirked Gabriel, "....like I said I would." Lord Fear was powerless in his current situation, and Gabriel grinned as he readied himself for triumph.
"You and your amphibian friend are going to become toast right here...." said Gabriel to Fear, "....unless of course, you intend to surrender...." It was at this point that Lord Fear staged one final protest.
"Like I said to Treguard 10 years ago...." he said:
"WHAAAATTTT!!!! ME!!!! SURRENDER TO YOU????
YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR TINY..... MINNNDDDD!!!!"
