| PART NINE |

| The Opposition were suddenly taken aback as they were approahced by a sinister goth-like character wearing dark shades. "How dare you demolish my domain in the Shadow Caverns!" thundered the goth, very angrily. "I Gabriel, swear vengeance on you all. I will track down each and every one of you and then, and only then, will you feel the full extent of the annhilation I shall inflict." "Did we build over your territory without knowing that it belonged to you?" asked Lord Fear, somewhat sarcastically. "Oh, I had no idea we had to obtain planning permission from the likes of yourself. Ha! Very unlikely. Now, if you excuse us, we have more important things to be getting on with." "Maybe I should start now with you, right here." challenged Gabriel to Fear. "And when I have finished destroying you, I will then move onto Wraith. I know Wraith, that you have always been out to get me, you sardonic nuclear-power grabber!" "I'd like to see you try, Gabriel." replied Lord Wraith, raising his hand to summon a ball of lightning. "And if everyone else could do what I am doing now, maybe this not so merry mage will realise the superioir evil force that he is now facing." At once Lord Fear, Lucifer, Morgaine and Isarion all raised their hands, ready to unleash their foul magic. Gabriel roared in anger as he came to terms with the fact that he was outnumbered. "Damn you all!" shouted Gabriel. "I will be out in the dungeon to get you all one by one, and when I do, then and only then will I get my revenge." And at once, the mage disappeared to beat a hasty retreat. "Do you think that Gabriel character could pose a big threat to us?" asked Lord Fear to the rest of the Opposition. "I doubt it." replied Wraith. Back at Knightmare Castle, Treguard and Frego were getting ready to prepare for the first challenge. And like the Opposition, they were suddenly taken aback when Gabriel appeared in flash of lightning in the antechamber. "Who - who are you?" asked Treguard. "An enemy of the Oppositon - and an enemy of you unless you agree to co-operate with me!" replied Gabriel. "We don't take to threats too kindly." shuddered Frego in protest. "Definitely not." agreed Treguard. "Especially from the likes of people who storm in uninvited into our antechamber!" "Well, if that's your response, I shall have annhilate both of you right here on the spot!" thundered Gabriel. "But, as you both seem such good people, I shall give you a second chance. Co-operate with me and you regret it...." "Very well then, we shall help, only if you agree to help us in return though." said Treguard. "Excellent." insisted Gabriel. "I Gabriel, am glad that you have come to your senses. Now, the Oppositon have taken over my domain in the Shadow Caverns, or that which is now known as Level 2. I believe Treguard, that as a dungeon master, you will send a dungeoneer through the caverns as part of their quest. There I will give them any assistance I can, to guide them through safely. Now, that we have a deal, I shall leave you to open up that which is known as Knightmare, dungeon master." "I am in acknowledgement, Gabriel." replied Treguard. "I'm glad to hear of it." smirked Gabriel, as he began to fade away once more." And remember, I am watching you, dungeon master, you and your dungeoneer...." As soon as Gabriel had totally disappeared, Frego voiced his concerns. "I really don't trust that Gabriel character, you know." he insisted. "I mean, he is just so mysterious and looks like he could be a darker person to meddle with than any of the Opposition." "Never mind him." replied Treguard. "The time is almost upon us. We have more things to worry about than characters from unknow origins. Frego, it is about to begin, the greater game of Knightmare is to re-open once more...." |
